Great job with the scoring John and thanks so much to Scooby for putting up the dosh. Congrats to Chelseacol on a brilliantly timed run. I was hoping my old cobber Black Kirrama (Rev) might hang on for the win after he hit the front at the furlong pole but alas it was not to be. He'll be all the better for the outing though. Thanks again to the organisers for all their hard work. Made my Saturday most enjoyable.4 points -

Congratulations to you Chelseacol. The winner. Pondy and I usually run a book of who wins these fantastic Saturday competitions. Chelsea was at 146 to 1. Memphis and Gruff were 11/1. Warren and Jack were 8/1 We were very wary of Gubillini. He doesnt enter these comps very often. We debated for hours about his price. Settled on 8/1.He scored 583 points. Right first Time , Jack , Mr Zim , @ 11.5 FF Cabbage,Houlahans Dream,Stoyde , Hall and High Sparrow were on our 23/1 line. High Sparrow needs swabbing with a total of 648 miserable dollars. He's getting ready for the next Race Cafe competition. What a Great days racing. J Mac vindicated his great judgement by a very small pubic hair. Keep the positive comments going. Rev3 points -

The last couple of times I walked the NP track I chose not to race one on it. I think it would be better for Taranaki racing for the NP club to invest any assets in the reconstruction of another track. Probably Hawera or Stratford. Can't see the economics of reconstructing the NP one making much sense. Hawera in particular, is also more proximal to the horse population.2 points -

arjay Licketysplit won twice at Rotorua. 28/11/71 ridden by Bob Skelton and the Rotorua Cup meeting on the 12/2/72 again ridden by Bob. Sharda won the Cup ridden by Ray Brown who sadly died in Australia a few days ago. The double paid $179.60.2 points -
Blue Licketysplit was bred in 1966 by Shifnal out of Purple Planet. A lot of the Shifnal mares were small. She was owner-trained by Cliff Fenwick at Takanini. She won 10 races from her 52 starts. Like her current namesake she won on debut at Ellerslie on the 2/11/68 ridden by Des Wyatt. Her best win was the Bowen Handicap at Ellerslie on the 12/4/71 ridden by Brian Andrews.2 points

if ever the jockeys stood united, against an issue that was permeating through the racing industry and the country as a whole their influence within their community would be felt across the board the offshoot to this.... would impact the stake-holders in the community... to consider the voices of the small people who love and support the industry&Nz as a whole, thus bringing attention to the Elephant in the room It is as we see with the protests... a David & Goliath battle. New Plymouth Races
Memphis3 and one other reacted to Chris Wood for a topic
Let’s set a few things right here guys. I left this morning from Cambridge at 8.00am with 3 horses onboard. Rusavy and Side Eye to race, another taken down for an owner of mine to pick up from the track as she has been retired. I checked the NZTR website, a Dead 4, perfect. By the time I got to the outskirts of NP, I could see there had been a few showers, nothing of much consequence. I unloaded my horses and put them in the yards over by the 1600m mark, didn’t need to cover my horses as it was quite warm, and they were happy. Another couple of light showers occurred over the next hour or so, nothing of too much note. I went for a walk out on the track, dug my heel of my boot (not a riding boot) into the track and left a nice indent on the track. Perfect footing I would have said. All 80 kegs of me, so you can imagine what a horse footprint would have done. So next thing I hear the races are Called off, jockeys not happy. I hear there was a delegation of senior riders went out to view the track. 3 didn’t want to ride and one did, so that was end of it. 300mm of rain has fallen on this track, including the day the last meeting was called off, and that would t have penetrated into the track, for fucks sake, blind Freddy could see that it was there, remembering the last meeting was called off because of surface water, and you think the Track manager is to blame for that? You are a gullible lot if you fall for that one… The jockeys are meant to be professionals, a good trainer here in Cambridge approached me the other day with a good idea, a group of senior jockeys rotating, should go to the course that is being raced on that morning and gallop two horses on that surface if there is any doubt about the meeting going ahead, no doubt they would want to be paid, NZTR could stump up there with the money coming from Jockeys fines, no use sending them out with an umbrella, some wouldn’t know which end to put in the ground! Tongue in cheek! So as I waited for my owner to come and pick up his mare, I walked the entire track, digging my heals into what I thought was a perfect surface, and if anything, after the first, a downgrade to a dead 5, possibly a 6. I rang Carey Hobbs, he was gutted, two galloped in the morning, no problems, then this pops up after a few light showers, sad for him, his club, sponsors etc… What I am saying here is what a lot of trainers are thinking, but they won’t speak up/ out, I am speaking on their behalf, and note I don’t hide behind a bogus name, I am here, shoot me down, but something has to be done to correct this. I realise OSH plays a big part in this once the Jockeys wave the white flag, but just recently some have gone in with pre conceived negative thought and think this doesn’t help matters whatsoever. Anyway, just my thought, along with a lot of others, but what would I know, an ex Hurdle rider! That could be the key to it, run Highweigths as the first race, we never wavered when sent out there to test run the track, food for thought!2 points -

KEEGAN UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR FAKE VACCINE PASS
fermoy reacted to Hi Ho Silver for a topic
arjay, everyone must know someone who has taken the jab to continue riding, training or officiating. It would be remiss of me to divulge medical information given to me in confidence, however if you search hard enough some vaccination injury details can be found on MOH website. MSM may not direct you to that information or the injured parties but any racing sleuth can easily obtain details. The numbers are significant enough to worry about licence holder numbers moving forward. If you are an avid Trackside viewer you've no doubt noticed the changing appearances of those interviewed, even presenters and commentators. Some symptoms will still be evolving. For the sake of racing and New Zealanders in general vaccine mandates have to go.1 point -

KEEGAN UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR FAKE VACCINE PASS
Huey reacted to Hi Ho Silver for a topic
I think you may need to quantify choice, Idol. I've talked to a heap of licence holders who were only jabbed so they could continue their trade. Given the choice many wished they had not been vaccinated. If you are from the harness side of the industry as your name would suggest (Idolmite was certainly a beaut mare) you may have a better handle on those numbers. As far as galloping is concerned there are many on the vaccination injured list, some of whom will never work at full capacity again.1 point -

But if the other two could not call because of covid should it not be announced as there must be a lot of close contacts to them I would of thought??? Not a word anywhere as to the reason why they did not show...does anybody actually know the reason???Would be keen to know.1 point -

KEEGAN UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR FAKE VACCINE PASS

Even with 2200 deaths a day in the US Anthony Fauci is calling for a return to normal with no masks or vaccine passes, Sir Russell Coutts will be joining the protesters in Wellington and top NZ sportsmen are also supporting freedom of choice. Can't wait till racing gets back to normal soon. Does anyone know how many have died of Covid-19 Omicron?1 point -
Once we're Warriors, the chains of oppression break off!!
Pam Robson reacted to 100 1 for a topic
Do you know Russell Coutts?.... Hes vaccinated Pretty logical bloke or is he a conspiracy theorist? Off to the protest for very good reasons. The people are taking back their country. https://www.facebook.com/russellcouttssailor I'm heading to Wellington next week to join the protest. It's the first time I've ever felt compelled to join a protest. I'm not anti-vaccine (I'm vaccinated) but I'm definitely against forced vaccinations. I'm also strongly opposed to the ever increasing erosion of our human rights and the growing limitations on our freedom of choice. I believe in having the freedom to be able to question so-called "expert" opinion. I'm against discrimination and the "them and us" society that is being promoted by our current political leaders. I'm against creating different rights, laws and privileges based on Race. I'm also against the irrational Covid rules that are currently being mandated in New Zealand, a few examples being; - The 10 day quarantine that still remains for international travel. - The absurd rules where our kids (vaccinated and unvaccinated) can sit in the same classroom and play sport together inside the school yard, yet are prohibited from playing sport together outside the school yard. - The absurd rules that prohibit two young unvaccinated brothers, living in the same household, from sailing together in a sailing competition because they would be within two metres of each other while sailing their boat. - The rules that require one to put on a mask to walk to and from the bathroom inside a restaurant when masks have already been removed while eating and drinking. - The contradictory rules that allow unvaccinated people to take a domestic flight (with a negative Covid test) but prohibit a young unvaccinated kid from competing in their sport (outside school). - The fact that our kids are forced to wear masks at school (even when it's well known that the surgical masks most of them are wearing are highly ineffective). Finally and perhaps most important, I'm against the fact that some of our mainstream media have received payment from the New Zealand government conditional on them promoting government policy, propaganda and spin. So yes, I'll be joining the protest in Wellington.1 point -
Get to the real point' There was NEVER a pandemic in the first place. The rules were put in place under the emergency laws of Covid. When the dust settles she will be reimbursed and apoologised to.. They INVENTED a pandemic with a faulty PCR test, they rigged the death counts, driven by a complicit MSM,, corrupt big pharma and corrupt govts and big tech who censored the truth.. There is zero medical evidence masks work against a virus, lockdowns don't work, they hid the real cures, they hid the vaccine side effects. The people testing positive and spreading Omicron are almost exclusively the vaccinated. The vaccines don't work! All proven in plain sight if anyone bothers to dodge the criminal MSM. Crimes against humanity The longer Wellington goes the sooner the truth gets exposed.1 point

A Bumper is short hand for a Flat race under National Hunt rules. These are usually for inexperienced types who have never run on the Flat though they could have jumped a point to point fence. They started as Schooling races run at the end of the card in Ireland and because of the often large number of inexperienced runners there would be plenty of jostling and bumping - hence the name. While there are a few Junior Bumpers for 3-y-o in the autumn over 2400-2600m the majority of English Bumpers are run over 3200m and are for slightly older horses. The top Bumper race is the Grade 1 Champion Bumper at Cheltenham. Bumpers are usually run at the end of a national hunt card over the hurdle track - the actual hurdles are removed and the runners gallop through the space where the hurdle was. Where you gave an all-weather track, the Bumper is run on the artificial surface which is slowed by being more deeply harrowed.1 point

There will be no stopping the freedom rally. The Govt will cave. The people will see the truth. For the people who don't understand what the Convoy to the Capital... freedom rallies around the world are about…… . Well here's why It’s for the family members banned from visiting loved ones in nursing homes. It's for the people who couldn't attend funerals and bury their loved ones. It’s for censorship on all social media platforms. It’s for all the people too afraid to speak up in fear of being called conspiracy theorists. It’s for the people who willingly got the J because they were told it would end the lockdowns. It’s for the people who willingly got the J so they could open their business again, only to be told they can’t. It's for all the people who can no longer buy homes because of housing unaffordability and unavailability. It’s for the people who didn’t want to get J but were coerced to. It’s for the people who don’t want to give up their freedom of choice. It’s for the people who only want answers to the many questions that haven’t been answered. It’s for the people told to be to afraid to hug their family and visit their friends. It’s for the kids to go back to being kids and to stop having to live their life's revolving around politicians’ whims. It’s for all the religious people who were told their faith “doesn’t count”. It’s for all the families that lost a loved one to suicide. It’s for all the people who took their own lives due to this entrapment. Its for the mental health advocates that love and care but who aren't being supported and heard. Its for our people too, especially our teenagers, who can't access the mental health services and counselling that they so much need. It’s for all the thousands of nurses, doctors, police, emergency services of all kinds, teachers, early childhood workers & many other trade workers who have lost their job due to not wanting to have the J for their own personal beliefs. It’s for the people who want their lives back. For the restaurants to serve food to everyone. For the bars to play music. For the students to learn. For the kids to be free. For the people made homeless. For people who want to work but are forced not to. This is for those people. This is for trying to silence honest and hardworking citizens. This is for all the people told they can’t go to church. This is for trying to steal local water assets via Three Waters Reform. This is for trying to restrict our freedom of speech, our fundamental democratic right. This is for trying to remove our religious freedoms through shaming & bullying. This is for spending billions on advertising campaigns instead of using it to actually care for our sick & elderly. What a shame! This is for the abuse taking place in our long term care facilities that have been swept under the rug for too long. This is for the sufferers of adverse side effects being ignored & shamed. This is for the lives that we lost to the J. We will never forget you nor will we stop fighting for the justice we deserve. This is for trying to demonize good people. This is for trying to create a two-tier society. Never in my life have I ever seen the healthy punished and the sick untreated...Why have we made the cure worse then the problem itself? This is for the 300,000 surgeries canceled because of the “health emergency”. This is for the people that died waiting for their surgery. This is for the people who died alone in the hospital without being able to hold the hands of their loved ones. This is for everyone, even those that don't think they need it, it's for them and their children too. This is for the shattered relationships of families and friends, divided by the hysterical fear-mongering conducted by their government and media. This is for the exhausted nurses. This is for the doctors that are threatened. This is for all the front line workers… delivery trucks, grocery store clerks & emergency service workers who are constantly working overtime . This too is for our children, who we teach to stand strong, bold & firm. May they be able to stand tall once again and declare too that they have a dream. But finally this is for everyone of us, may we all be one people again. "Courage is infectious & so is Unity. "1 point
