    • Usually a Mayor promotes his / her  the City. In Laws case he always was doom and gloom.He constantly went on about gangs in Whanganui and the press were only too happy to quote his rants. Trouble was visitor numbers to Whanganui declined at an alarning rate because potential visitors were concerned about the gangs that Laws kept going on about. He knew his days were numbered and moved south to Timaru and since then we have not heard about the gangs in Whanganui.
