    • Ones in the Thordon mile tomorrow and ran 2nd last time it ventured that way😘
    • Let’s include Mr. Dore’s "Connections Advised" details into a timeline. All four of the dogs received the generic "10-day stand-down period" provided for under rule 76(4) for their 9 Jan scratching.   Lighting Space Last raced 19 Dec. Vetted after race & cleared of injury. Drawn as reserve & didn't gain a start from 24 Dec Cambridge. Drawn for & scratched from 9 Jan Wanganui oval. Swollen left achilles. (generic "10-day stand-down period")   Maple Leaf Last raced 12 Dec. Finished strong 2nd of 7, not post-race vetted. Drawn for & scratched from 16 Dec Wanganui straight rule 76(4) 15 Dec to 24 Dec. (generic "10-day stand-down period") Drawn for & scratched from 9 Jan Wanganui oval. Right hock sprain. (generic "10-day stand-down period")   More Airflow Last raced 5 Dec. Finished last of 6 as race favourite, not post-race vetted. Drawn for & scratched from 9 Dec Palmerston North rule 76(4) 8 Dec to 17 Dec. (generic "10-day stand-down period") Drawn for & scratched from 9 Jan Wanganui oval. Left hind leg soreness. (generic "10-day stand-down period")   Zeus's Magic Last raced 19 Dec. Finished 3rd of 8. Vetted post-race & received 7-day incapacitation. Grade 1 muscle injury Left gracilis. Drawn for & scratched from 9 Jan Wanganui oval. Right gracilis soreness. (generic "10-day stand-down period")   Did "connections" forget which one of Zeus's legs was supposed to be sore? All these injuries & stand-downs, only one handed down by a vet.   Why were all four dogs drawn for the race scratched on the same day? Did the four of them have a little tussle and hurt each other?
    • Just took a look good fields for sure .  Race 8 Franco Josiah could be the smokey at good odds
    • Those Blenheim fields have held up well. Decent sizes and only two scratchings all day.
    • Superbet selection: Race 1 Single Red, another to draw of the track, interesting Grylls stays with, bred to run over trip, so will be running home, was a nice 3rd on heavy ground at the first outing at the trials behind race winner Quantum Legend, happy to risk on ground. Race 7, Quondo, steps back from Group company, 1600m now looks to suit, best form has come on rain affected tracks, can win on class alone? Value Plays Race 1, Reecetherageese, capable on off tracks, may need this one and best over 1600m, but can’t leave out of multi’s T4 if the track runs into Heavy. Race 2, Flashback, looks capable on all track condition, early support on fixed odds, with a large win bet put on early. Can win here today. Race 3 Thumbelina, Impressive trial winner, tricky to gauge on S7 or worse, but not prepared to risk. Race 4 Loft Manuel, solid support this morning with multiple big, fixed odds bets placed, In great from, worth following the support. Race 5 Fastdeedun, Marsh trained runner, who made plenty of ground from the back until, cut out of a gap at the 200m mark. Stepping up to 2100m but can sneak into the T4. The other Marsh runner Intoxicated also appeals, fit and handles the cut out of the ground. Race 7 Washi never really tested when 5th 2nd up, happy risk here as capable with cut out of the ground. Race 8 Great Adventure, stable is starting to find from, good third and home in 34.1 after missing the jump, stepping up to 1600m, stable is finding form, T4. Ground? Race 8 Asal, draw the carpark, likely to get back anyway, amazing run, making you huge slice of ground, extra 200m today, can get some of the T4.  Ground?
    • Will be interesting to see if Halberg is still at $21 fixed on Sunday
    • They reinvented the wheel NM, it worked for a while, but now it's up shit creek, and the paddle is floating away. go back to basics, it worked for us for 60 odd years, maybe 80, bite the bullet and go again......it's not that hard.
    • The powers that be would be considering the big picture.  Racing on Thursday in downpours on a very heavy muddy track would have meant the horses would have been bu...ed, let alone the track, and small fields for Sunday and Tuesday.
