Points earned in Week 7

Melody Belle, thanks to Blaird throwing in some picks for Majestic, and Imperatriz our top scorers this week.

Relatively even spread of scores.

Team Bonecrusher absolutely and completely humbled this week. It took me half the day to even contribute anything, AGAIN. We jumped out of the gates quickly in this competition, but it's looking now like we were a 1200 metre sprinter prepared for the Railway Handicap, now trying to run out the 6400 metres of the Great Northern Steeplechase 3-times over the Ellerslie Hill. Breathless :rcfe-laughing:

Another super close week!! Well done McGinty

Thank you Sir. A head bobber. You played very well . The collect of $20 by Little Tramp in the last put us an inch in front. Thank you Horlicks for the battle.
Well done McGinty boys and old mate Onemate got his mojo back.
Great comp John and Scooby. Look how close it was going to the last race shows it’s a well thought out comp.

Mr Tiz plays Melody Belle next week

i’m head to head with Majestic ……don’t worry mate as in spite of my lofty place on the individual points table I lose about as  many head to heads as I win

but the rest of the stable are starting to hit their straps nicely so after beating Bonecrusher Melody Belle next on the list.

looking forward to it …should be a good close match

Just a reminder from the original thread, how the play-offs will work.  A real advantage to finishing in the top 2.

The play-offs will run for three weeks.

Week 1

The top 2 ranked teams from pool play will get a BYE and progress directly to the semi finals.

Team 3 will play Team 6, and Team 4 will play Team 5.  The winners of these matches will progress to the semi finals and the losers will be eliminated.

Week 2 (semi-finals)

The #1 ranked team will play the winner of the 4 vs 5 match

The #2 ranked team will play the winner of the 3 vs 6 match

Week 3 (final)

The semi-final winners will meet in the Grand final.

This same structure will be repeated for teams 7-12

Note, at the end of pool play, teams will be ranked by Points earned with any ties split by total dollars earned.

In the knockout rounds, to avoid the possibility of a 3-3 tie, the bonus point for $2,400 aggregate will not apply.  The winning teams will be decided by the four individual H2Hs and team aggregate if required to split a 2-2 tie.

Thanks John - love your work!

This has been an excellent comp - some great contests and banter, with the Oz contingent nice and prevalent and adding a nice angle  (maybe a State of Origin comp in  the future 😉)

I'll have to lift my game from recent weeks, otherwise Team Horlicks, after being handy early on, might end up running in the ArsesHandedToUS Plate 😄

Hopefully n0t
