  1. It's probably a safe bet that the track will dry out quickly with a forecast high of 28. Safe trip home Stodge.
  2. You imagine? I think those two words cover the vast majority of what you post on here. It must be the highlight of your day having an argument with yourself in the mirror every morning.
  3. You clearly missed the subject of his retirement being discussed on Trackside the week before last. The consensus was that he’ll be back but, of course, you know best. On the subject of Te Akau i noticed that Billy Pinn wasn’t on any of their runners yesterday. No doubt you will know the reason why with your myriad of contacts within the stable.
  4. I wouldn't be putting any money on his retirement lasting long. He was on Damask Rose in the exhibition gallop yesterday.

  6. Very good advice which I shall heed.
  7. More from Mr Wightman. "Thanks to those who have helped to shine more light on the predicament at Trentham, not just the rumour of the red stickered members stand (still to be confirmed), but also the backroom property deals that have stripped the club of 75 percent of its land assets (sold) with little or nothing to show for it. Arguably the poorest drained track in NZ but with so much potential. The 3 people of interest are Wayne Guppy (President), Sam Walker (Vice) and Malcolm Gillies the land developer who appears to have a strong association with members of the club. Putting aside the money that has vanished into Awapuni/RACE’s coffers on previous sales … I’m still trying to work out whether Gillies has a hold over the undeveloped land down the back straight … did he pay market rate for it …. has it been paid for … if not … does he have a locked in price that has no inflation adjustment?? Also .. for those of you who are members of the club, how transparent have the dealings been?? Are you getting good information and updates on what is going on with YOUR club???"
  8. Condescending prick. Your thoughts about the horse's condition are obviously based on your many years of horse training. Funny, I somehow missed seeing your name in the trainers ranks. I don't know why I'm bothering to say this because you'll come back with another smart-ass quip but I think I know what logic is when I've spent nearly 40 successful years as a software developer. You seem to be running some sort of coffee business now and can also lay claim to a woeful attempt at getting into parliament so I'll draw my own logical conclusions about you from that.
  9. I would say he reads the NZ Thoroughbred page that Mr Wightman posted this on.
  10. The rumour came from the ubiquitous Mr Wightman on Facebook. "Tell me this isn’t true. The whisper was out that the slash & burn merchants had Trentham in their sights which is consistent with parcels of land being sold to developer mates in recent years taking it from being 64 acres owned by the club to now just 15 acres, asset stripping at its best with the proceeds essentially under the control of the once near bankrupted Awapuni club (RACE initiators) that moreorless went tits up after a seriously botched subdivision project that their Club committee directed 15 to 20 years ago. Down comes the public stand recently at Trentham for future land developers (saves them the cost) and in walk the boys from the Upper Hutt City Council today (Club committee Chair is also Mayor of the district) to apparently red sticker the Members Stand. Who wants some land to develop????"
  11. Just to be clear about this, I think Ciaron Maher is an exceptional trainer.
  12. So you're quite happy to keep flogging a horse that clearly doesn't want to be there on account of his past performances? By your logic (and I use that word very lightly) you should just keep racing them until they drop. The Legends Day last Saturday was a wonderful event. Some of those horses wouldn't be around if your 'logic' was applied. Stand what I said about Rogie. Are you game enough to post his strike rate for the last 5 seasons?
  13. More spurious 'logic'. Just admit you're wrong.
  14. Show me where I bagged Maher. I just said that the owner was after more money. Rogie's past it - well and truly.
  15. Is relocating to Christchurch. I agree with others that he should do well in the South Island.
