For me it's the cutting away to another venue as soon as a race is run. Often you have to wait for quite a while for results to come up due to them consistently doing this. It's particularly annoying if there is a photo involved.
Also entire cards of no TV races having betting on them. I understand there maybe a clash here and there but last week the entire Rockhampton greyhounds card was non TV races. Surely this kind of thing is just diluting other pools.

Why don't you answer the question about the directors room changes and tell us why your big owner left racing because of them.

And name a few of the owners that are leaving the sport in droves. Might pay you to get to the sales next week and see the owners and trainers there buying up large because they know prize money is going to increase dramatically at Auckland because of the property development initiated by the board to make harness racing viable again.

At least we are trying something rather than criticising like you!!

You should also deal in facts before you shoot your mouth off. I had never met my so called mate Kerry Hoggard or the CEO before they asked me if I would be interested in joining the board but hey don't let the truth get in the way of a good story will you??

Bit over the top isn't it Scooby? How can you be sued when Charles has not named names. We all know there are cheats but none of us can prove it. What Charles is doing is pointing out some of the shady shit that goes on in this sport that we are already aware of. Surely we can state our opinions on here without the threat of being chucked off. Whatever happened to freedom of speech?

It's a new world now.  The customer they want is the one who wants to throw some money at a multi using the TAB's selections.  Basically a racing lucky dip is what they want you to buy.  They put up a little picture of a mortarboard on the bottom right of the screen and the Trackside presenter encourages you to have a go on this great new innovation from the TAB (A few of Thad Taylor's good chances offered to you at unders as a Multi)..

Peter, it is symptomatic of how the TAB/NZRB treat their customer's. They are a law unto themselves and have little regard to providing what the customer's actually want.
Delay in proving trial footage is just one, taking racing off Freeview, the recent slashing of information from the newspapers yet another. Their continual retrenching of racing coverage to the public is making racing a virtual secret society.
Just last Friday (I have gone on about this previously) the NZTR website showed the Ellerslie track rated a Good 3 as at 8:53 yet at mid-day the TAB still showed it as a Dead 4. Thad Taylor from the TAB came onto Des Coppin's show about 12:30pm so I sent Des a text to tell Thad Taylor that the track was a Good 3 not a Dead 4 which he did. At 1:45pm it had still not been changed even though all the fixed odds for every race were now showing. So I rang their help desk and gave them the message. It was changed to a Good 3 a short time later.
They are in a world of their own and continue to show very little regard for customers on many occasions.

I had to get up early this morning and switched on the box to see what our Wellington friends had to say about the Group One day at our largest track - Elerslie....you know....a preview. Its Saturday morning, the kids get up to do their sports and the day starts. What do I see you might ask?
Nothing on NZ racing until Off the Track - an interview with Steve Davis and a trotting star called Dexter Dunn. Prior to that:-
Off the rails - Australian preview of Australian racing
Breed to Win - a breeding program about Australian breeding
Off The Rails - A REPLAY OF THE PREVIOUS OFF THE RAILS PROGRAM
    and the Off The Track......
You have got to be kidding!!!!! We're all busy people post 9.30am on a Saturday. Why isn't the reply of the Aussie racing, the time slot for the preview of NZ racing - A GROUP ONE race day. I think we might have to race more in Aussie. We might actually get more enjoyment with him racing over there

The NZ TAB has the worst software in the world, we all know that........the flucs are so slow after the jump, they are open to innuendo and assumption. I don't use the TAB here anymore, I learned quickly, I would doubt if any pro punter does, why would you? it's easier to use other, more reliable and professional avenues for revenue streams. It;s sad to say.

If you backed it at fixed odds then yes you can say you backed it at $3.80.
If you backed it on the tote you didn't back it at $3.80 - you backed it at a totalisator price which can change as more money is bet.  The tote prices on display are only indicative and not final until money (incl commingling) is in the pool.

Firstly can I say we are gutted by what has happened to Rogan. As Trainers you feel like it is your fault when this happens. Like everyone else our first reaction was to blame the horse . Having now contacted Rogan and some of barrier attendants it appears it was a freak accident. Rogan's stirrup iron got stuck on a part of the starting gates as she was loading. The weight of the horse going forward caused the injuries. Rogan and the barrier attendants said it could have happened with any horse. The person that started this tread has had a crack about the horse previously so I want to set the record straight. Before the Taupo incident where she slipped onto  her haunches as the gates were about to open, she had trialed 5 times and raced 6 times without incident. Why her back legs went under her we don't know. She did not throw herself over backwards as someone on here commented. At her next start  she refused to load and this was probably a carry over from her Taupo experience. The Stipes requested she undergo an official barrier jump out. The barrier boys worked out how best to load her and she trialed  at Cambridge without incident.( ridden by Margaret).  Livingston then ran 4th with Kinjite on. At her following  start Kinjite was dislodged NOT BY LIVINGSTON, but by the horse in the next barrier ridden by G Cooksley. That horse had played up in the birdcage and also at the barriers. It came out of the gates sideways and heavily bumped into Livingston causing Kinjite to fall off. This was not reported to the Stipes,  much easier to blame Livingston as she had the reputation by now. Back to yesterday, because of the serious injuries suffered by Rogan the Stipes will carry out a thorough investigation into the incident and in particular how the stirrup iron became stuck in the starting gates .Perhaps there needs to be a modification done so it never happens again? Some of the comments  on here (always under an alias) put an indirect slur on the Stipes and also on us as Trainers.  In closing, yes Livingston can be difficult to load but there are plenty of other horses that need patience and extra care when loading. The barrier boys were getting her confidence back  and this terrible accident had to happen with Livingston immediately getting the blame. It does nobody any good making uninformed and inflammatory remarks on a public forum.  If any one wants to discuss this further with me then please do. My phone number is 021354588.. Tim Carter

Has it been established this was solely the horses fault? . No freak accident or error of judgment being factors?  Watching trackside you could not tell what happened apart from a horse a little reluctant to go in. Do those calling for horses ban know more about what happened?

Valley Girl is an example of a nice trial run for third prior to her debut. She ran home strongly over the 1000m and the first start for her over 1400m looked ideal. The bookies opened her on the fixed odds at $61.00. She won by two and half lengths going away and ended up paying $6.90 to win on the tote. As we all know she is now a G1 winner.
