Hopefully in the aftermath of your comment they take this on board .😝

A few to ignore at Trentham today..

R1 Bridal Train

R2 Am I Blue

R3 Amend

R4 To Cap it All

R5 Sinhaman

R6  Islington  Lass - Manifique

R7 Savaglee

R8 Sharp N Smart…not a fan but looks well placed. Provence a chance.

R9 Chaource - crying out to win a race hopefully today but racing style doesn’t help. Omega Boy unlucky last start.

Both our mares running today in Oz..

Kembla R2 Reasonable - she is honest and heavy track should suit, deserves a win.

Gold Coast R5 Until Valhalla - only rated 72 against 100+ topweight so surprised they have thrown her in.

Stable scratched Semana from this for another race so we will see.

Have to say those praising Racenet for their form offering should have a look at the Kumara form.  None of the analysis references how a horse ran at Reefton on Wednesday though runs at Omoto are mentioned.

That small gripe aside, today’s disasters as follows:

Kumara:

2.42: UNLEASH THE BEAST

3.17: TAKE ON

3.52: ROCKBURY

Trentham:

2.29: TO CAP IT ALL

3.40: ISLINGTON FALLS

4.16: SAVAGLEE

Sorry I couldn’t join earlier - out of a walk and breakfast in Napier with Mrs Stodge.

Been watching Chaource, today might be the day but think its best over 1600-2000m. Went with Knock Off when it opened at 9s, and will bang them in a quinella.

Also on Manifique and Sinhaman.

Good luck with your two today.

Agree actually PS. Think the mile is better so if not today, next time.

One other observation today: George really seems to be struggling with the commentary at Kumara.  Getting his timing wrong with the short straight and the race is over by the time he describes the finish.  Maybe not as familiar with the colours down south too.

Too much whitebait.

Sticking with Mali Ston in Thirndon. Backed it all summer, gets a decent draw and drops from WFA weight.

Weatherly sticks and 18s is value against ....what is honestly some middling NZ milers.

Confident it will beat SharpnSmart....

Beat Sharp and not so smart by about 3 lengths.

Rogie will line it up midweek though, you watch.....

Not what you would call a particularly good day yesterday.

Two horses running in Oz and both meetings get abandoned because of the weather. It looked biblical on the Gold Coast…..:rcf-monkey:

Thank goodness for Sammy Spratt, what a day she had and that ride on Provence got me out of a rather large hole.

Chaource was disappointing although the fall in front of her didn’t help. Wait and see if there is a mile next week.

Rough day for me too.  On the flipside Provence killed my chance to get out of the hole - I had Qali AF at 12s fixed.

In better news, Betcha just threw a random $20 bonus cash at me due to some glitch at Kumara yesterday so lets hope for better with house money

Spent the morning playing croquet (as you do). Mrs Stodge has never considered me handy with a mallet but I could get used to croquet. It’s a mixture of chess, snooker and physics with hoops.

Back to the nonsense and Ellerslie provides an antidote to a good Sunday lunch with some bread and butter action. A few unoriginal selections:

2.00: TALE OF THE GYPSY

2.35: THOOZA

3.10: KOHEROA

4.20: YALDI

4.55: EYE CANDY (each way).

Good luck to all having a punt (not on a river presumably) today.

Yes, I think you can put a line through the CHAOURCE run, my friend. Nasty incident and I hope both horse and jockey are well.

SAVAGLEE looks a decent type - not sure the drop back in trip did any favours and he was never going better than when passing the post. I gather the Caulfield Guineas is the target - presumably this is where the top 3-y-o milers from Australia and New Zealand meet - like the St James’s Palace at Ascot without the hats.

Slightly off topic, but for those who enjoy a Sports Bet, I think the Renegades offer decent value at $6.50 in the BBL (in from $7.50 yesterday)

Me tipping the Renegades was more effective than Diastop - the runs dried up instantly 😀

I could stop a train at the moment 🚆🥴

Here's one to break that habit then Alf . leave the Train 'stopping to 'Hancock' ( a hollywood movie scene)

maybe Get on number 4 in the last race at Trentham this Saturday and get aboard for some winnings on the Bridal Train.   👍💰
