The best? It was shit racing watching them all charge towards the outside rail where the fast lane was.

No different to in their day Foxton least there is a fast lane ask  D Walsh or watch trials from Foxton you might learn something.  Trentham, Awapuni , Otaki Hastings don't seem to have one. Only Winter CD track they can come from anywhere on , inside or out is Waverley yesterday proved that.

Doesn’t make for good racing though, lets all scramble to get to the fast lane

Hey Biggie the same can be said for many other tracks with any number of different track states, and not just in the straight.... there seems to be 'faster lanes' on a semi regular basis...remember the day at Rotorua when Pomare stayed near the outside fence the entire lap and bolted in, bit of local knowledge goes a long way 😆

Im not singling out Wanganui, but it’s also a saftey concern. Charging to the outside fence especially when the outside fence is usually made of metal, wire and in most cases the posts in the ground with concrete.

remember Gizzy and Troy Harris I think it was, yes it was an inside rail but that was a shocking incident.

just saying,

Sorry everyone missed the boat here but I thought throw out a bone and surely someone  would chew on it but Wanganui wont race again this winter

Yes I was told its in a bad way too...soon with all the racing at the rest of the tracks they will be Donald Ducked too...and there is a perfectly good track sitting there doing nothing...great decision making by the muppet crew.

Don't panic, we still have Trentham. Massive noms there this weekend.

Only got themselves to blame after that recent meeting that was abandoned after 2 races. Quite a few northern trainers/owners were there and not a word from a club official spoken directly to them - would make a good Tui billboard

Meeting abandoned - get back in your trucks and drive 7 or 8 hours back home and we will see you next meeting- yeah right!

second last meeting at Trentham = 1 horse nominated from north of Taupo

This Saturday so far no horses north of Taupo nominated.

Yeh well the experts said that’s what we had to do. They didn’t think long term and now it’s back firing with tracks overloaded. Getting Messara  wasn’t a bad idea. Expert on Ozi conditions. Expert on all aspects not just breeding. But they should have had a NZ expert ( there are a few on here) and Messara and have some sort of balance. Good tracks sitting idle while over used tracks getting hammered. Not ideal.

My threepence worth

They might have to bring Waipukurau out of mothballs. Or Opaki, or Levin, or Bulls, or Wairoa, or Foxton, or ....

And Marton and Ashurst. Lucky Waverley is still going. I’m sure they would like to get their teeth into them.

The issue is the lack of investment in tracks and facilities. First Foxton has no facilities for raceday so stop taking about them like there a silver bullet or should the Club build those facilities? How many years ago did they lose those and still nothing to replace them?

What facilities do they really need to run a low grade Thursday race meeting? They run trials fine and apart from a weigh room which I'm sure there is enough space for there isn't a lot more required is there?
