    • No good supplying details need photographic proof as I in all my years have never seen anything like that so honestly I find it a bit hard to believe , but if there was a photo, then different story. But agree the wider the circle on this breach of the rules the better.
    • Expecting the RIB to take action over these whip infringments...and downright cruelty..is like inviting a turkey over for Christmas Dinner. Just ain't going to happen. These acts of cruelty to horses need to be publicised outside the racing industry. I don't have the expertise to do it. But I have experienced first hand the laziness and ignorance of stipendiary stewards in NZ racing...both 'codes '. Some time ago I posted here about seeing a horse come back to scale after winning at Te Rapa. Blood oozing out of wounds caused by whipping. I know the horse, I know the rider, I know the trainer. And I know the Stipendiary Steward who looked directly at the injured horse and walked away, did nothing. I'll supply these details to the right people if asked. Clearly fining and suspending riders and drivers is not working.
    • The one on the outside is always an offender too..Lahoud.
    • Equineline has 339 foals of racing age from 136 mares. 140 runners (41% r/f), 87 winners (26% w/f, 62% w/r), 6 stakeswinners (1.8% sw/f, 4.3%sw/r). I can't find one of the SW, but the others are Sharp 'N' Smart, Swiss Exile (G2w 2yo in QLD), Stormy (G2w 2yo in NZ), and Grand Impact and Aitch Two Oh (both G3w spring 3yos in VIC).
    • Who said there was a problem? Was merely pointing out the irony of NZ banning overseas bookies from taking our money in order to supposedly "save our NZ racing industry"... the same NZ industry that then served up a laughable 6 flat races on a Saturday, essentially leaving the NZ bookie dependant on Aussies (the same ones we served a middle finger to) to create a market in which they can generate revenue for the day.
    • Yet another recidivist is Chris Dell...ditto Leah Hemi, Joe Doyle, Toni Davies et el Drop of Something and Yuga Okubo Elen Nicholas in the last...well above shoulder height and nothing mentioned
    • Pure mate I disagree, CMNow was not hangin shit on anybody especially in the way you put it in that 1st post, and that's a bloody big stretch to say profferin figures and accounts etc which I might add are already published elsewhere, and out there for who ever may want to notice it or not; is indeed hangin shit on drivers, trainers etc....people are entitled to, and do read, and glean info from any source they wish, inclusive of PP site....ATC has got widely publicised issues, that do not appear to be gettin any better; criticism of the Club and it's many woes are already out there in the public domain well known and spoken about; however, attackin a RaceCafer in that manner is not goin to salve your unease at the situation anytime soon.....come on now; none of us are likin the ATC situation, and I for one bloody hate seein that for sale sign up outside Pukekohe Club but there it is.....until the Banks decide they've had enough or not, we all get to hurry up an wait! Idol mate, I believe the whole situation is already lost, we just haven't heard it yet...   Cheers Iraklis

    • I'm certainly not predicting their immediate demise (but we don't need another dozen to pop up every year), but l do wonder how things will look 10 years from now. I won't be around to see who is right unfortunately, but some of them are certainly better thought out than others obviously, in both harness racing and the gallops. I enjoyed the two races at Addington last November, and attended the Cambridge slot meeting earlier this year. Great stuff. But the first NZ galloping slot race at Ellerslie drew a disappointing field in my opinion,  but drew the crowd they wanted. So many 3 year olds racing on the same day, Derby Day. To maintain that interest l believe they'll need to improve the quality of the field in many of the slot races by years 4, 5 and 6. In the harness, we've been extremely lucky to attract the likes of LEAP TO FAME, DON HUGO and KEAYANG ZAHARA, but then we've attracted SWAYZEE twice without a slot race.  The Everest will attract the world's best sprinter, KA YING RISING NZ, this year, and should be a huge boost for that race which really hasn't been the quality at $20 million race should attract some years. Good, even great, but not lacking superlatives for the money on offer. It is worth $20,000,000 from memory? And that's good Aussie dollars 🤣 It's no secret the Eureka is already struggling; Will it cease to exist? Will it reduce in value? Will it be completely reformatted? Time will tell. I don't mean to be negative, and many of these races are set up for multiple runnings from day dot, but will there be enough interested people with enough money and enough incentive to keep them all going, forever? Or will only the strong survive? The two year old race at Albion a park sounds amazing, but some of these slot races are scavenging the fields for the existing and historic Group 1 races too. Is there room for everybody? We need plenty of fast young horses for that. Plenty more than we've got now anyway, to ensure the classics get great fields as well. Race horses can only peak so often.
    • Leggy, you're on a winning cause here, mate. Keep showing the pics and build a library of evidence then if the Stipes continue to turn a blind eye to this BS, start a petition. The last thing NZ Racing needs now is a bunfight via media over animal welfare, so the powers-that-be weill know they need to startt taking action over the 'flank' issue.
