Friend Family 357 Report post Posted February 19 FFS ...BREATHING = the most important thing in a race for any horse. You try sprinting down the drive to the dairy to get the milk ......your breath is gone and you walk home .....and any judge with half a brain could see that in the straight he couldn't level his BREATHING and was battling because of this.......you see it time and time again and this one was no different. Drawing wide (and the early rush) cost him the race...... he couldn't correct his breathing. As I said previously you simply MUST ride a horse in his or her comfort zone wether the Pogomiester agree's or not. Good debate ....but when the jury returns they will say ......'All rise .....have you reached a verdict?' .....and the verdict will be that the horse himself was NOT GUILTY. FF. Pure Steel 1,460 Report post Posted February 19 FF they are All possibly struggling for a bit of air the last bit . Jockey's included sometimes . How was the Craig Williams brain explosion on Bella Nipotina in the previous race?. only 4th but with-in a length of Imperatriz. totally stuffed in the breathing . Imperatriz gave them a real gassing ? lol.. Goot it right in the First Leg of the Quaddie though. RIFF ROCKET (the Vic Derby Winner resuming) home like an express train in race 7 the CS Hayes for Willow. Had them All out of breath the last bit. It was a 'breath taking' finish by the Rocket . Riff Rocket owner fat Debbie still gloating to camera's ok after . she has good set of lungs at least Hope you enjoyed Willow breathing fire on that one . Memphis3 1,365 Report post Posted February 19 If they change the jockey it would be a blue. He’s been nabbed by a roughie on the line. I’m thinking all the high profile owners having a bellyache has made the ride a big deal. Basically the draw beat him. End of. Be interesting to see how horse progresses from now. Probably a few good benchmark races there for him. Leggy and nomates

Funny we are having this discussion after Ryan Elliot got grilled for his ride on Legarto ... he supposedly rode for luck and everyone berated him..Williams takes it out of the equation and same result

For all his breathing issues only ONE , that's ONE horse , was breathing evenly enough to just catch him on the line . How bad were the rides on the others to not get them breathing them evenly enough to get over the top of the one horse that was breathing out and in instead of in and out .
