They were before my time. That is why I can't understand the terminating pick 6s. I generally don't bother with the pick 6 but when the pool would get big I couldn't help but have a nudge, gallops or trots. It would be the same theory I guess with a big on course jackpot, you just wouldn't want to miss it. -

I'd like to reinforce the earlier comment by dkc. Lots of us have read of harness people reaching a pinnacle in their career and thanking mentors. Other times we read of people getting in various sorts of trouble that education and mentoring, rather than penalties and bad press, should have been the solution. Nothing is ever static and even old hands have to adapt to change. While learning by trial and error is one approach, tapping into acknowledged expertise is usually more auccessful and a positive experience for both parties, no matter what age you are. I know I feel flattered when young people and colleagues ask me for expert advice in my workplace. -

Striking against race meetings / TAB/ NZTR will not work but this whole thread is about politicians greed and wealthy donors and their crooked dealings , any strike should be at the ballot box, stop giving these pricks money!strike at the heart of the problem ,votes and money are what they crave , starve them into submission. -

The real problem with MB winning penalty free is that the points differential SHRINKS between MB and the beaten brigade and when those horses revert back to hcp racing they have no show.While there must be some penalty , giving more points to 2nd or 3rd place runners is wrong, not knowing the likely points/ max points b4 the race is wrong. -

I wouldn't blame them if they start some kind of action it just could get messy at moment and potentially lost in the election chaos , I can see racing being the fall guy here and getting dragged through the muck with the donation mess which has nothing whatsoever to do with smaller clubs and workers . -
You wouldn't. The only beneficiaries are the salaried at NZRB into which abyss the now $50m + disappeared. -

RR ... just like Fairtax huh ? The first month it was a precious few with much resistance, much of that resistance was public and spiteful Then it was Trackside and the NZRB who tried to stop it Then it got momentum .. and the tide turned ... and the industry got itself a 40 million dollar reward I don’t see too many beneficiaries of Fairtax complaining about the rewards now
