Think you meant Selecting and Tipping Hools all very well but as you well know its  how you use those ‘selections’ when punting that determines outcome  

Had a bet on the Trainers Premiership option this week (Baker Forsman @ $6)
Bookies offered me 3% of bet value...then immediately ratcheted price down to $4.60
That's not a scam, it's within their betting rules. 
But I'd have thought my bet, added to the early flurry on Jamie Richards, could have been an ideal base to turn a "novelty option" in to an easily promoted/low risk/good turnover option. 
Feels like we have a Formula One asset...with Grandma Walton at the wheel

After a decade as a member I didn't renew one yr. No email. No phone call. Started going to public stand. Same shit disinterested service. But at least it's mostly free. Apart from new yrs or boxing day...always empty. And the horses look the same.....

Well, I'm kind of new round here but....$50 to spend on cup, $40 on EW bets. $10 exotics. Winner by total 'collected'. Nice and simple. Works on $$$ value rather than pure selecting skill.

I don't think that's fair. After the draw he was given no chance by many. Bosson snagged him to the rear and was patient. From last at the school to 3rd first time at valley...first time 10f. Beating all the hype Aussie horses (avilius...MJ)...quite a performance. Also that rail lane didn't produce many winners after 16 races in two days. 
Very good run from a very good horse.

My comments re “smashed the rest” probably should be taken in context re the run. TAS gave the entire field a start at the 800m and passed all but 2 horses - and was still strong on the line. Imho, the best run of the race aside from the winner - who was in another class. TAS also ran down and passed Magic Wand in the straight. At the 800m, TAS was 2 lengths behind the winner and finished within 4 lengths across the line. The winner in another class but TAS clearly better than the rest.

From a selfish point of view I enjoy being able to rock up to headquarters, park easily, wander in, pay no entry, get my preferred seat, have Houlahan junior run off to a bouncy castle, buy a lemonade and a sandwich with zero queues, and bet without any hassle. 
But this is Ellerslie on Gt Northern Day. Where are the crowds? 
Me and junior went to an average day at Caulfield in April, yes it was, 'family day', but it required way more navigating and planning than any NZ race meeting, aside perhaps from boxing day races. I just....don't see how it can survive in its present form with such low attendance. Maybe the off course or sport's betting will save us?

Could you not argue that Hartnell's last furlong in AStar mile was more impressive? Jock had to change direction twice in home straight, finally gets the old bugger balanced, and away he goes?

The bit I don't get is the VAST gulf between the form in the Aussie papers, and ours. It makes me weep with joy to get the full form on a Friday in Melbourne, then the truncated one on the Saturday. We don't go near that level of detail. Even the colour photos and full times etc for each race the day after - mind blowing attention to detail. 
Nothing in NZ touches it. 
 
But yes, the internet and sites like Racenet etc provide a lot of info for sure.
