Hope she bounces back. Looked like she may have got stood on, had nowhere to go and nearly went through the running rail...Head on would be interesting but as always the race is now taken down, and the stewards report will also be interesting as it looked like the rider of tivaci Princess may have been the cause.

The usual Scoobs , leader moving off the rails around the bend and the rider not then keeping that line , happens in most races in NZ .

We have looked at the reply serval times Yes horses a bit tight BUT have alook at the inside rail it appears to have quite a bend out which was what the horse hit IE running rail not straight thats what contributed to the fall

Come on, if there was room it would not have been an issue.

From the Stipes Report: MEDIA MISS (K Hercock) - Over-reacted when making contact with the running rail near the 300 metres, shifted outwards dislodging its rider, hampering PLATINUM SIXTY SIX. Rider K Hercock was attended to by paramedics and transferred to Whanganui Hospital for further assessment. K Hercock is required to provide a medical clearance prior to riding next.

That is good news.

We lost a promising young rider last Sunday at Charing point-to-point in Kent. Keagan Kirkby, who was 25 and worked at the Paul Nicholls yard in Ditcheat, was killed when his horse veered sideways and crashed into one of the fences.

Mercifully, these occurances are rare but nonetheless tragic for all concerned.
