  1. Most likely nil. You see the government put the doggie industry on notice at least 2 years ago All they did was reconstruct Wanganui track and spent a couple of mill building the straight track at Wanganui race course. I wont even start on dog welfare like cheaper and easier to put a dog down rather than spend money on vet fees allowing at the least the dog to enjoy its retirement. Take time to visit Sunday jump outs/trails and on race day walk around the back of the stands dogs locked in trailers and hot vans. I am mates of an old trainer in his words the young ones are a different breed its now all about winners and making money the passion has slowly disappeared. For the record I have in the past owned and raced a few dogs but walked away a while ago. JUST to finish have a look at the dates of posts and replies on this dog site where few write and post a true reflection of the doggie peoples apathy
  2. Not sure about the cuddles, HOWEVER as you mention you and along with others haven't seen Harry at "work" at the races of late I hope all's well with him.Thats why I suggested Opie helping out as a mentor
  3. ha ha chevy86 he's lost enough now cant take everything from him ON a serous note he has always been 100% professional on race day and would maintain that Do you know anything about our present riding mentor !!!
  4. Opie wont be lost to our industry I can see him joining a top training partnership. The question is which one. In the mean time lets use him as a RIDING mentor
  5. Because of very clever contract clauses that so oftern jockeys sign without independent legal advice example Jockey rides horse in jump out or trail trainer says good ride thanks OH by the way can you ride it next week, Jockey replies yeap but you have to confirm with my agent . Agent does nothing and yet takes 10% of every thing YES jump out .trails race ride fees and winning %%% easy as money for jam just gotta be in first
  6. Rules for Some already I believe there has been a trade off with Horse jumping races hence there is only 3 years of programming for them then that well be it Flat racing well stay the next century
  7. Gosh you doggie people speaking up NOW on this great forum Sorry guys you have missed the boat. The writing was on the wall over a year ago ALTOUGH I did think straight racing was goig to save the day for at the least another 5 years me wrong. I'm not anti dog racing but How much weight was there behind the ban was because of the way the industry appears to treat dogs with broken hocks and toes etc the Greenies have said the its cheaper to put them down rather than treat and then retire the dogs
  8. Heard they are going to rent half the stalls to the needy and come race day the committee well take them in Yes just a joke like the CEO, course manager and committee
  9. arjay nah I'll be telling him "look mate if you hate him that much at least bite him along the back straight so that only a few well notice lol
  10. just thought worth a mention spent all day in Wellington two drops of rain all day
  11. To be honest choice of Lifestyle unless breaking the law or slanderous isn't Entain, TA or anybody else's business. Sure at the track on race day there are rules and expectations to help project racings perfect image (lol) Who really cares if a jockey goes to the races with a boy friend ,girlfriend or a couple of each
  12. nomates maybe I have been So instead of being a smart arse explain why and I suggest you re-read my post Rather obvious you dont spend much time with riders I made a fair truthful statement followed by a question
  13. With the increase of weekly race days and our riders wasting day in day out Are we too hard on our jockeys who are reaching burn out and are no longer prepared to take the slightest risk when tracks are challenging. What happened to the days when the riders would say to their mates "Dont go too wide until you straighten up its a bit slippery "or stay of the rail its bloody rough
  14. thankyou scooby3052
