Clearly going on Belclare . Unless they are exceedingly well bred with a great race record the Aussies won't look , have plenty of quality over there to choose from .

Yes she would have more interest here rather than in Aussie she did not perform that well there so that would devalue her there...NZ form is not that highly regarded there.

Yes Belclare is a far better mare than this one is....300K maybe a little more depending on how the sale goes...but nowhere near 850K.

I know hindsight is 20/20 vision but really hard to work out how Mr Ellis thought she was worth 850k.
 

She would have some residual value I guess but way less than the 850K forked out for her.

And Ballsey wouldn't have the faintest idea what the basics of racing are anyhow. He thinks you can just promote it like Casinos. He obviously has no concept of the infrastructure involved.

Whoever got the job had to be a Entain lacky, What's the board doing in terms of direction to operational staff, that's by far the most important issue here

I know some people think I can be negative but I just got the feeling that he was reading off statement that Sharrock had left on his desk when leaving the office .

Track at Waipuk looked outstanding for the trials there today...what a sad waste.

100% agree Idol...start small and can easily lead to big...but still a ton of fun..a win is a win...nothing like the thrill of that.

That "paltry" $50 per month can mean as much to some people as $50,000 per month would mean to others. A cancellation may even mean more to them as it's likely their only horse, whereas the big spenders could possibly have shares in several runners over different days each week. Don't belittle today's small spenders. They may catch the bug and later on put more into the sport than they are now, and racing is definitely a sport that needs more owners just as it needs more breeders and more foals.
