Yes, that's the worst part of the result I think. 20-30% would generally represent a reasonable level of participant engagement for this type of survey, 30-50% for high engagement. As you say, such a poor response rate risks a non-response bias which often means that only the very happy and very unhappy have responded, so the results are not really useful.
I'd have thought that would have been indicated in the report and shared in the summary to the industry.
I'm not quite clear why the full report wasn't attached to the news item. It seems ironical in a way that it remains hidden given the content of the NZTR summary of the findings and apparent intent to increase transparency and engagement.

nomates reacted to PKR in NZTR Survey results.
8% response rate? What? In the world of survey research a good many would argue that on this response rate any 'findings' lack reliability and validity - indeed, are not trustworthy. That then flows on to the analysis of the data, any recommendations etc. What can you say that's of any use from such a paucity of data? I presume there was an obligation to publish the report but its not far from 'fiction' on what the research people had to work with. Then of course there's the client, NZTA. To what extent did they 'tweek' the content once it was in their hands?
Why the low response rate? Apathy? Not made sufficiently salient? Probably still in stakeholders in-boxes. And a window of 20 odd days? People are busy busy these days.

Come on NM all is rosy according to others elsewhere, those who are critical, need to just get out according to some loser on an insignificant site....how much skin does he have in the game I wonder.

What a shambles , 8% response shows how many have given up on NZTR and the industry .
And the last thing NZTR should be doing is making broad and sweeping decisions on the future of the industry off these figures .
That 4 out of 10 being positive equates to approx 3.175% of those sent the survey .
The biggest take out I get from the survey is the huge apathy with the direction of NZ racing .
If this their template for the future then it wholeheartedly confirms my decision to take my business elsewhere .

Well if your patting yourself on the back of those figures then you have perception issue .

nomates apathy on steroids. No wonder NZTR get away with the proverbial.

nomates reacted to We're Doomed in NZTR Survey results.
8% response rate to any survey is appalling, let alone for an industry that is struggling.
That must tell us something, I'm not exactly sure what.
Either 92% of participants are ecstatically happy with the way things are going; have given up totally; or just didn't understand the questions.

LOVE THIS ONE! 🤣
Nearly four in ten stakeholders say they are fairly or very confident in the future of New Zealand’s Thoroughbred racing industry.
NZTR Actions:
This is a positive baseline as we continue to move through an era of rapid change for the industry. LESS THAN 40% IS POSITIVE ? 😮 WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER MORE THAN 60% ??? 🙈😆

No no Gubes - 51.5% of the 8% that responded = just over 4% of those stakeholders that the survey was sent to have confidence ... yes 4%!

nomates got a reaction from Ardtheone in NZTR update - Awapuni track
It would hurt to lose Trentham for any reason but honestly CD racing is already Donald Ducked .
Awapuni and Hastings out of use , New Plymouth and Trentham each without a public stand , if it wasn't so sad you'd wet yourself laughing .
I'm sick of weaselly words , someone at NZTR stand the F@#k up and take control , I'm sorry but I think Mr Ballasty is out of his depth . He's maybe a nice guy but that's not what we need .
What are the board doing ? what are the Super Group doing ?
Close Awapuni down and invest it at Trentham , stuff RACE , they have been nothing but a drag on CD racing .

I can assure you that there is no one more disappointed in calling Universal Patch Proud Capitalist twice in the running than I.
Sorry!
It's live tv, mistakes happen. In fact, a perfect day for a racecaller is actually very rare. Most errors are minor or unnoticed.
As for the form, t he raw speed figures for both 1200m races today look strong. Couple of underwhelming performances. But form is an opinion and can come from a myriad of angles and analysis. You are entitled to your opinion on this, as is anyone. The Sweet Smile race (25/2) produced 3 winners today, so the winner was underrated - given the beauty of hindsight.
