ardeea got a reaction from JJ Flash in Dexter Dunn update
As I have previously posted - Dexter Dunn is worthy of more media coverage and is a great advertisement
for N.Z. I keep track of is efforts through Harness Link (USA) site...Good coverage there.

ardeea got a reaction from Value Bell in Dexter owns a WR of 1:49 with Manchego
One wonders why the efforts of Double D don't feature in local news media....HarnessLInk describes him in glowing terms in a release
today - 'New Zealand born harness racing Super Star" having won 314 races and $8.7 million (US?) in stake money this year.
.Surely results like that deserve some local publicity. Especially when put beside some of the drivel journalists choose
to write about some of other so called sports stars.......There is no doubt that Dexter Dunn is a SUPER STAR.

ardeea got a reaction from Fartoomuch in Operation Inca - Part 2
Will be interesting to see if any of those charged 'break ranks' and do a plea deal then give evidence against others
charged... Not an uncommon outcome when there are multiple offences and offenders..
It would appear that the police (and probably RIU) have reviewed the evidence - probably with Crown Solicitors -
and sorted out the charges....I think I would prefer to be outside the tent at this stage - could be some interesting results,
possibly a few guilty pleas...

ardeea got a reaction from hedley in Waikato Trials
How did the jockeys find this new trial track - looking at videos it seems to have been a bit tight even
with only six horse in each heat.....Been a long time since this track was built so hope they get plenty of use out of it.
-
ardeea got a reaction from army in So how would it work, hypothetically, this synthetic track?
One has to remember that if one track is to be used week in week out - What is the effect
on the local economy - You can only suck so much money out of locals - Hard enough to get locals
to support meetings now without overloading them. Also do at what stage do they decide to transfer a
meeting onto the all weather -You need a few days notice to get organised. Good idea but the logistics of
getting they system up and running need a lot of thought.

ardeea got a reaction from LongOwner in DALGETY FINED $32,000
If one reads the JCA report by Prof G.Hall it gives a fair and reasoned outline of the whole case.
While Cran Dalgety may be annoyed, upset and even bewildered by the end result, the Judgement
sets the case out in a reasoned and, I consider, a fair manner. I would think Cran Dalgety will suck it
up and let the matter drift off to be forgotten about as soon as possible.

ardeea got a reaction from ivanthegreat in Poor Tom
Good comment - Tom Wood is certainly a breath of fresh air in the commentators box.
George Simon has done a sterling job for many years but doesn't add anything new to
the calls - pretty predictable and tendency to be a bit stale.

ardeea got a reaction from elbow in Gibbs-Mansen Again
Will be interesting to see the stipes report - seemed an 'unusual' ride.
Surely there is some avenue that this boy can get some advice and help,
after all there is shortage of jumps riders and it would be useful if he could get
some tuition and help and add to the rider's list.

ardeea got a reaction from Ashoka in Well Done Sam! Congratulations.
Great win by this kid...From a long standing racing family. Also good to see a commonsense
decision to warn him re his celebration at the post.
-
ardeea got a reaction from Swynford in No surprise what happened!
I did n't see this incident but often thought it could be a good idea for the starter to
allow a stable rep (stablehand/trainer) who is familiar with a trouble some horse to
attend at the start. While you would have to be careful how often it was allowed it may help
with a known troublesome barrier rouge. Is such a dream feasible?

ardeea got a reaction from Cubes in James McDonald - Royal Ascot
Great to see James McDonald riding at Royal Ascot but where is the
publicity machine to promote his achievement? Here is a Kiwi riding at
the biggest Racing carnival in Britain - one of the biggest in the World - riding in front of Royalty and with the best jockeys in the world and there is virtually no news media coverage in his home country (and we have a PR guru in charge of the governing body!) Imagine the publicity rugby will get when Dan Carter turns out for some club in France next year - look at the coverage
Jerry Collin's unfortunate death is getting for rugby. Get moving with the press releases, and such like and get James on the front page.

ardeea got a reaction from puha in Nigelissima - Ponderosa Miss Race 3 Hawkes Bay
Unfortunate few days for Daniel Hain - wiped out at Matamata on Wednesday by Michael Coleman and
then wiped out completely today. Hard luck for a battler who was just getting some good results going his way.
One hopes he recovers from these knock downs.

ardeea got a reaction from Puzzler in Publicity for racing
One has to be dismayed at the lack of publicity the racing industry generates in mainstream
media.
Here we have James McDonald, a 22 year old Kiwi riding at the Royal Ascot meeting -
one of the best in the world.
Yet mainstream media - be it radio, tv or newsprint - see to virtually ignore such
a wonderful feat for this your fellow.
Who in racing HQ is responsible for feeding such stories to the media - is anyone
really making an effort?
Just look at rugby - we are feed a constant stream of rugby stories. Dan Carter's sore hand
generates more media coverage that any racing person could dream of...
Lets hope somebody, somewhere puts out a daily update on James McDonald's achievments.
Heres hoping.
