Some clowns used meth on their racing greyhounds. How they were never banned for life again beggars belief

Perhaps he didn't go to choir practice as a school boy to learn to stand up straight or do physical education - balance beam Gym... We have said it before and we shall repeat, younger and new to the industry need to be shown and taught how the likes of the late great Phil Leishman presented racing and spoke so eloquently, then there was Mary McCarthy (?). Who is selecting these presenters for jobs? We understand some picked up jobs as they lost there's at Newshub and TVNZ but they are not all well spoken either. Bring back Journalists who are Journalists and put a nail in the coffin to "Communications studies" they introduced back in the early 2000's as they are not up to Professional teaching & learning standards

Anyone who backs a 22 start maiden proves that fools and money are soon parted. They would be better throwing the money into the street. Some lucky person would get something for the money!

CELESTIAL SEA - when questioned regarding the tactics he adopted passing the 800m driver J Dunn advised that he was concerned LOCHDARRAGH may weaken rounding the final bend after leading through the middle stages and maintaining a solid tempo, so felt his best option was to shift away from the marker line to avoid being held up. Stewards noted Mr Dunn's comments. John Dunn does not watch previous races going on those comments. Lochdarragh was huge last start and was never going to weaken. Ignoring previous form cost him the race.

I've seen heaps of bad rides by jockeys in Australian races and no three month bans. I think you're overreacting a bit.

Don't the Green Party support the use of Medicinal cannabis? Meanwhile what political party have those been potentially associated with who have been caught using such substances around Greyhounds? Aren't the Greens big on Rehabilitation programs for criminal offenses, including the use of unlawful substances? There's always a flip side...

Court systems are constantly clogged up with the same names and appeals sad to say so who knows how long any case would take to get to Court for Jurisprudence. The world needs more proactive people to hold academics to account who merely copy paste others Research without looking at their own contributions to the cause of problems in society. Problems which have disrupted the Status Quo Harmony in society since learning how to use a computer and the internet at schools in the 1980's exploded. As recent example of yet again flawed research practices, Academics wanting taxpayer funding through MBIE / Universities are blaming cats for killing birds on beaches and in reserves. A recent research paper said 4 cats were caught on camera at Omaha over a lengthy period and one had a sniff at the birds nest eggs and went on it's way. The eggs never hatched so they are blaming the cat. Perhaps those people can look in their own back yard how their own human scents and footprints around birds nesting areas causes harm to birds. How many other flawed Scientists papers are used to advise Governments within decision making? Frankly we feel in the last 30 or so years of governance in New Zealand has gone down the gurgler for what a Government should be doing. There's far too much reliance on the internet and a lack of meaningful inclusion of a wider cross section of those impacted on, including in Rural New Zealand. Don't start us on mass migration academics who fail to cross reference laws or geography who are new to New Zealand and the use of false documents and Qualifications. How many have ever attended a Race Meeting? Why is it that Asian countries are where the demise of Racing and closures of Racecourses started? Think about the bigger picture folks in the background.

Great storyteller, wonderful horseman.. Syd Brown, the legendary trainer of champions like Redcraze, Daryl's Joy, Wood Court Inn, Classic Mission, Triton and Kista, passed away on Sunday. The former New Zealander who called Sydney home for more than five decades would have turned 100 in October. Brown, a NZ Hall of Fame inductee in 2014, was an institution at Warwick Farm where he trained. "Syd was a good friend and mentor, a great storyteller and a wonderful horseman, '' trainer Ron Leemon said. "I was up early for trackwork on Sunday morning when I got a text from Errol to let me know that his father had passed. It's a sad day.'' Brown first came to prominence as the trainer of emerging champion Redcraze, winner of the 1955 Turnbull Stakes before finishing fourth to Toparoa in the Melbourne Cup. Redcraze was later transferred to Toparoa's trainer Tommy Smith and won the 1956 Caulfield Cup, Metropolitan Handicap and Brisbane Cup. Brown then had success during the 1969 Melbourne spring carnival with Daryl's Joy winning the Cox Plate and Victoria Derby, and Wood Court Inn took out the Thousand Guineas. Classic Mission then gave Brown the 1971 AJC Derby-Victoria Derby double before the trainer decided to move to Sydney the following year and set up stables at Warwick Farm. Brown had immediate success when his mighty miler Triton edged out champion Gunsynd in an epic 1972 Epsom Handicap and brilliant mare Kista won the 1973 The Galaxy. He finished third in the trainers premiership in his debut Sydney season behind greats Tommy Smith and Jack Denham. Brown continued to train winners out of his Warwick Farm stables until he retired 20 years ago. Rod Craig, best known as the trainer of eight-time Group 1 winner Intergaze, was Brown's neighbour at Warwick Farm stables for many years. "I remember one time when I was training I had about 50 horses in work and they kept running fourth and fifth, and I was thinking what am I doing wrong,'' Craig said. "Syd came over and gave me some advice that I have never forgotten. He said it doesn't matter if you have 10 or 100 horses in work, every trainer goes through a lean period so just keep working hard and it will turn. "He was right, of course. He was a great horseman and a real good bloke.'' Brown's sons Errol and Bruce also became successful trainers in their own right. Bruce Brown continues to train out of Doomben and prepared Calaway Gal to win the 2002 Golden Slipper.

I didn't say I agreed with it. I did have a feeling they told her to go to the front - she obviously overcooked it. The horse is a difficult ride. I backed her a number of times earlier in the season and pulls too hard.

Little consolation to punters that backed it Pete. She should stick to jumpers.
