I didn't say I agreed with it. I did have a feeling they told her to go to the front - she obviously overcooked it. The horse is a difficult ride. I backed her a number of times earlier in the season and pulls too hard. -
Little consolation to punters that backed it Pete. She should stick to jumpers. -
From the Stewards Report. SHOCKIFF (P Matthews) - Raced keenly through the early stages, making the first bend awkwardly. When questioned into her ride, P Matthews advised that her instructions were to lead as the mare had over-raced when being restrained to obtain cover at its previous start. SHOCKIFF again over-raced when ridden along in front establishing a substantial lead, commencing to weaken rounding the home turn and had little left at the finish. Connections confirmed the instructions given were for the mare to lead if possible and roll along. P Matthews agreed with Stewards that she had erred in her judgement on this occasion. P Matthews was advised that she is expected to exercise better judgement in future and her explanation was noted.

I see CM posted a sad reaction to my last post. The only sad thing is the continual obfuscation on the other channel. Wriggling around trying to convince people that posts haven't been taken down is laughable. The dictionary meaning of obfuscate sums the behaviour up perfectly. "make obscure, unclear, or unintelligible."

Magic Indy Eyre x Lucky Pat (Sundon) The stallion is from the same family as The Locomotive (La Coocaracha, Dance Craze, Mataderos etc) He has Lordship and Plat Du Jour in his pedigree which both produced trotters. Also has Nevele Pride going further back. -

Had a minimum of 28 days written all over it, in Australia 3 months minimum Punters totally shafted on a favourite, “reminding her of her obligations” is total BS …. Thank God I don’t bet in NZ as it continues to turn into a total joke on many fronts -

Seems very weird they have all gone and he is very quiet about it hoping nobody raises it too often...maybe got his differing personas confused...he has about 5 at least.🤣 And this message was sent to me yesterday...something was going on.... Shockiff is now a 23 start maiden. Hard to see her winning on the flat. Stipendiary Steward report reminded Portia of her obligations. Warned only. No fine or suspension. Connections wanted her to lead if possible. Shockiff is a very hard puller. Difficult to ride at the best of times. Future may be as a jumper or brood mare. -
Ned Kelly Mrs Kelly wouldn't let Ned out to play with that other mob. She would keep him locked up in his room.

Interesting to see a couple of threads and alot of comments disappear on another site, although I don’t always agree with everything on this site I appreciate and respect that everyone is entitled to an opinion and have the ability to have their say. The hypocrisy of that site’s post against you is laughable. -

One wonders if they have stopped breeding any more. If they can do that successfully then maybe we could do same scheme for human beings.

Back then it was run by racing people for racing people. Then we were told that it needed to change and bring in Business people etc, cut down the size of the Board etc and get Racing run as a business instead of as a "club" Well we did all that they asked, didn't we Pam, brought in Corporate Directors etc from the business world for the Board of NZ Thoroughbred Racing, appointed more big wigs to another Board called the Members Council, BUT Nerula I never saw a Communist amongst them 😂 -
