yes the great Laz paying $1.45 and no lasix in sight ! Will win the canadian derby from mc wickd.. at woodbine Ontario. Time planned is nz  Sunday 2.09.18    at nz   1.45pm    but as we know North America can be anytime from start time plus 30 minutes.

Cheers John, im sure that the race will be followed by more individuals than those with an interest in the 3rd at Forbury:rcf-laughing-3:

Seemed to have every chance??? Never seemed to find much in the stretch...2nd up maybe??? Still a brave run...well done Lazarus...plenty more wins in store for him.:rcfe-like:

Did the stopper really have a K on it.

It's not the end of the world. The other horse is highly rated as well.

Go! The Mighty Laz! even tho he got beat he was far from disgraced :rcf-happy-7: I will say however they did mention the acclimatization thing, and perhaps the big trip to Mowhawk just told on him, he didn't even leave gate with much zip like last time either, IMHO looked a tad tired, I don't care anyway he has a big furture ahead and he'll win one up there sooner or later.....

Cheers Iraklis

ODDS IN THE USA WERE 7/5 WHICH MEANS FOR EVERY $5 BET YOU GET $12 BACK.............. SO $2.40 in our language, more evidence of poor odds here in. Like the NRL where we consistently get about 10% less.

Opened at 7/5, but closed at 1/5. What did Laz close at here? Less, same or more?

The latest on the big L

Lazarus's visit to Canada has been extended by another start.

‘The Wonder from Down Under’ will compete in Saturday’s $34,000 Preferred Pace and has drawn post-seven in a field of nine.

Trained by Jimmy Takter, Lazarus suffered his first-loss on North American soil when he surrendered the lead in the lane and finished second to McWicked in the $600,000 Canadian Pacing Derby on September 1.

The Pacing Derby has been Lazarus's only start since his North American debut on August 10. Takter noted after the Pacing Derby that the six-year-old needed some more North American racing experience.

"I trained him a fast mile last week at home but that is not the same as having a race, especially with an older horse like him,” said Takter after the Pacing Derby. "So missing an elimination last week didn't help and I honestly think it will still take him another two or three races up here learning how we race to get used to it.”

Regular driver Yannick Gingras will again sit behind Lazarus.
