barryb 2,064 Report post Posted October 22, 2017 Was a great day in the hot sun and a fitting finish to the race. The club did a great job in handing out free mystery tris to patrons. gary1
Guest 2Admin2 Report post Posted October 22, 2017 Brilliant 91 rating 7 year old horse wins the Grp 1. Excellent stuff. From the Kaponga Hotel Egmont Cup to Grp1. Wahoo! Good call Gingernuts not up to Aussie at the moment.
barryb 2,064 Report post Posted October 22, 2017 Too be fair, the horse has been in outstanding form and prior to the race looked top notch in the parade ring. So did St Emillion, I backed it at $61 and the winner at $36 so was bloody happy. Only collect on the day though. Badly sunburnt now, been a long time since racing in warm weather like that. gary1 and THE TORCH
.... 226 Report post Posted October 22, 2017 Congratulations to Team Lowry, they do a great job with their team. Has there ever been a 7yo having his 41st start that wins a WFA G1 race at his first attempt at a blacktype race? Incredible stat. puha 2,177 Report post Posted October 22, 2017 The combination of a Sunday meeting on Labour weekend , perfect weather, great even fields and opening up the gates for free , reintroduction of bringing your own drinks etc created a brilliant feel on course . Was one of those meetings you were pleased you attended . New date and same conditions in the future perhaps.? Like I said it was the combination of all of the above that made it such a great day . That crowd was far better than any of the first Two days in recent times . If it was someone else's horse then he would be willing it on to have won yesterday and gone on to the Melbourne carnival..Just the way it is I guess. New date and same conditions in the future perhaps.? nice ride and good to see local victory, thought O.P had timed it nicely BUT did he see J.Parkes finishing as strongly on the inner? yeah agree Puha, Free entry, saw the pic-nic loyal punter crowd return on the grass,...we usually take a spot and take our own piss, for the 1st 2 days of Spring Carnival (similar to yesterdays crowd). I go upstairs with out of town visitors for the Livermol and pay the nightclub drink prices...( begrudgingly out of my punting pocket ) whilst family / friends stay away from the meeting (for numerous reasons)...including entry price,over-done security and marquees restricting view. rdytdy 5,343 Report post Posted October 24, 2017 Trump and 2Admin2 you are both incorrect. He was on a rating of 96 when lining up in the Livamol. He was on 91 when he won the Egmont Cup and received 5 rating points for that win. He received 8 more points after winning the Livamol and is now rated at 104. Tailedoff 38 Report post Posted October 25, 2017 As someone who has had shares in horses with Guy and then Grant and Guy for about 8 years now its an insult to Grant to call them Team Lowry. Now just wait for Savvy Dreams to get back into work - bring on the Aus Cup and next years Cox Plate Grego and hedley 1
