meomy 980 Report post Posted January 28, 2015 We kept getting server error as well. However we did a search on Google & has been recent discussions to do with server error issues. At a guess it's a Microsoft issue, facebook etc was playing up yesterday apparently. IT people must have been playing God again. Good ole modern technology, then again who was stating recently about other racing related sites been slow, down, hacked etc. We hope those critters ain't been having a laugh at us "cafer's " expense.. Love the new look but terrible to use on a smartphone Yeah agreed about the new version being terrible to use on a smartphone. I tried getting some help in the test and help forum to no avail. The old one was super fast and i never had a problem.

Guest 2Admin2 Report post Posted January 28, 2015 The site database got hooked up for some reason and then got overloaded with access requests. Those of you who can't see the site is because you still have cached versions of cafe from the error period. As for the speed issues this is partly due to our increased popularity. A new smart phone access is in dev and will be released soon.
GONSTA 1,148 Report post Posted January 28, 2015 The site database got hooked up for some reason and then got overloaded with access requests. Those of you who can't see the site is because you still have cached versions of cafe from the error period. As for the speed issues this is partly due to our increased popularity. A new smart phone access is in dev and will be released soon. Sometimes it takes 20-30 seconds to load a page, and it's not my Internet on my phone because I frequent a few other forums and they load within 2 seconds. I don't know if it has anything to do with that horse picture at the top but it is extremely frustrating, along with new content not working and having to find where I last visited the thread ( my 2 fav features of the old version, aswell as the speed that it used to load ) None the less I love racecafe and hope the speed picks up soon ! Keep up the good work. Insider

Guest 2Admin2 Report post Posted January 29, 2015 Everything is fine - just need to clear your browser cache. When I get back to civilisation I'll do a forced clear of everyone's cache. Hard doing it from a campsite keeping an eye on the child prodigy. There is only one of me when it comes to admin, dev and oil and water. Things are ramping up with what we are doing. Getting to a point where it is no longer a hobby. ReillyM - I share your frustration as the old smart phone template was sweet however it didn't allow for the new stuff. I'm working on that. The site hasn't been optimised either - we have compromised look for functionality short term. Working on that too. Then you get the doggie boys having a dog fight and you spend time moderating! Remember it is a free site and i for one am grateful that we have such a site to participate on. Thanks - your comments are appreciated by the team. Tongue in cheek we don't have the financial resources the TAB have and I guess we have a better up time at the moment. Seriously - the outage was the first in a long time and Murphy says it will happen when I'm literally in the bush. The problem wasn't to do with the integration work going on as some may suggest. The database got in a tangle and then overloaded which may have been related to the first or vice versa.

napier 339 Report post Posted January 30, 2015 Cheers The video at the bottom of that link is even simpler to follow for the real computer novices. I suspect quite a few people are having trouble, as the posts have fallen off quite a bit That is what i used and agree - the video does make it a very simple ( 60 seconds) job. Needed to be for me !!!
