This should be treated as a learning experience by greyhound industry leaders in nz    Instead of using energy in a negative way by moaning, those here should be demanding from industry leaders strategies  and systems so that this never happens here.   Do those in the greyhound industry here  really believe that all would be  fine and dandy should the  same intense scrutiny be applied to the nz industry?      Has greyhound racing nz the leadership,skills and will for this to happen?

It amazes me in todays society how animalistic we humans have become,ie cage fighting ,watching sports players breaking bones in slowmo,the physical contact sports we have,mass shootings ,slaughter of children,drugs and general violence,the list goes on,but it is seen as cruel to let an animal do what it loves to do and is bred for.
Kids can play video games where they crash cars take drugs and murder people.
That spaceship to Mars is looking like a good option! lol

I will say however,we are well and truly due for a change in that position!

It would be nice to see the Quali trials from other areas around the country so that way when we look at the fields for first starters we can go & have a look at it to see what their running style is like.
Another thing I would like to see is a site where all trial times with sectionals are uploaded for punters to go & have a look at a dog that hasn't raced in a while or is just starting out to see what sort of times they are doing.

Craig I owe you an apology after reading a proposed remit from the RIU That no person shall in any manner attempt to excite any greyhound in the kennel building or the track. The reason given is that it is to dissuade the LP's from making noises at stir- ups.
      What a bloody joke it is a stir up that is designed to excite the greyhounds. I usually say to my dog here comes the bunny but I whisper it in his ear, will the stipes have recording devices at stir ups, so they can decide what has been said and how loud, or maybe I will just get a bystander to say it for me. I broke into the Chorus of Sloop John B one day because my dogs have that sung to them whenever they chase the lure in training at home. If I arrange a chorus of Sloop John B from all the handlers at the next meeting will it be in breach of the rules?
     When I said the remit system allowing the RIU to put forward remits I was at least expecting common sense would be a requisite.
Our industry is becoming a joke. next it will be that the dogs need blindfolds at stir-ups so the public don't see them getting excited.

I wonder if our claytons  LP Rep would like to comment, all he is interested in is gathering air points to cover his overseas trips seem him at the track lately, that's the trouble with the current board the grass roots have no real represention 

Unfortunately  Scooby there will always  be  jealousy  in this game us Kiwis are always trying to pull down people who have made a success in  their endeavours. One of the biggest thrills I have had in this game is having a photo taken with a dog of mine that won with Craig Roberts and Brendon Cole on either side with my 2000 dollar purchase

Been a small time punter I found the Jewels good value as far as taking all up bets by taking the Purdon runners as they say any collect is a good collect.

Why don't you ask your LP Rep to follow up your concerns at the next board meeting I'm  sure he will come back with an answer  on the rule next time he visits your local track at voting time 

Do we really need these after race interviews with the jocks most give the impression they  are doing it under duerest , most of time the interviewer has more to say on how the race panned out before the  jockey have  their say. 
 

Wife and I having been going to cup week for a number of years supporting the 3 codes after a not so pleasant  experince with a group of intoxicated slobs we now go to a local Christchurch Bar on both of the cup days that is far more enjoyable and attend the other races meeting during the week.
