Hi John,
Perhaps, I might be regarded as one of those hungry owners, but 15 years ago, when our horse, a 6 year old, was finding it hard in the top grade, we sent him to the US. Okay, we did not sell him, but kept in the ownership. These horses are bred to race, and if their racing life can be extended, with careful consideration, then it is a good situation for horse and owner. He performed creditably, but unfortunately died, when he had a heart attack.
The dream of getting a good horse is the optimum for us owners, and wishing everyone in ownership of this wonderful sport, the best of luck in those endeavours.

Gosh, it is wonderful that these competitions are put on, and grateful thanks to all concerned.
I am sure it would take a bit to annoy you, and I am sure we will try to read the rules and abide by them.

Doing my form on Friday night ,My best all up anchors  on Saturday   were :

Messing with tradition hasnt really worked here in NZ. Possibly the Derby is the only race that this has helped, a bit more time for these horses to mature to cope with the 2400m. 

Mrs Cubes has helpfully suggested that it was fortunate we did not switch to RIverton selections 'cause Cubity would have scored even worse.....

It is a pity things have got to this for you, as having met you, and your knowledge of all racing is valued, and you do have much to contribute to racecafe.
We can all interpret things differently at times, and life is too short, and plenty of things to look forward to, even if it is trying to get a win in this afternoons competitions.

The morning has dawned fine, with the wind having got up a bit. Some black clouds hanging over the Kaimai's, but the sun has broken through. Junior cricket is in full swing over the fence from me, and the covers have just been taken off the main wicket for the premier grade starting in an hour.

I guess it's a competition (?) and the other forum is called "Tips & Competitions" - but that's all just semantics. 
The thing is this is a public forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether others like it or not.  You can just as easily ignore Rees' post - like you've suggested he ignore your "competition".  His post wasn't abusive or malicious.

It has rained( light) on and off throughout the morning here. Sun is out now, but black clouds do hover though.

I have nothing but respect and praise for Karyn in every respect.. A totally professional broadcaster, eloquent, confident without being smarmy or arrogant and - perhaps her greatest asset - able to separate her personal feelings from her on-air presentation. Few people can do that as well as she has over the years, especially as TA has grown its influence in the breeding and racing industries. I have had the pleasure to have time with Karyn at Te Rapa and Ellerslie. She is genuinely thrilled to see and hear of other peoples' success and has a kind heart, generosity of spirit and an engaging sense of humour. Best wishes to her.
