Interesting that G3 2yo trots are being run tonight at both Addington and Alexandra Park. Is this seeming programming conflict finally recognition that owners in both Islands aren't prepared to pay out the large $$ and put their babies through the stresses involved with the long trip to race against the locals? If so, perhaps HRNZ will rethink the Addington $100k 2yo trot races in December and split the funding to provide a nice race for the NI trotting babies to target.

Yes Janitor my mate, and don't forget the night she (NatR) drove the mighty Have Faith In Me to run down Lenny The Shark in the 2016 Mile in 1.47.5, corr that was a Mile 🤗 https://www.hrnsw.com.au/trotstv/replays/23638 Dynamite mate you lucky lucky bugga 😆 Cheers Iraklis

I was there to witness her scintillating Ladyship Mile win albeit a day meeting…..

Something else that is new, that I have just noticed tonight, is that for a field of 6 runners with fixed odds, is that they are not offering betting on three place-getters, only two! That is a departure from the norm.

Shit 100/1 is that you re-investing your winnings?

And don't forget the greatest of them all, Iraklis my old mate. Adore Me!!! What a horse. She would be the best pacer I have seen and been in the game over 50 years Iralklis mate. In March 2015, Natalie Rasmussen drove Adore Me to win the Ladyship Mile at Menangle in 1:47.7!! It was the world's fastest time for a mare at that time. Months earlier, she won the NZ Trotting Cup ending the run of Cup wins by Terror To Love. So many memorable wins. What a horse! -
Just picking up on Lowdown's comments above, I agree we have lost focus on our own racing - it was always going to happen with a handover to Australian operators who frankly have to get back what they have put into to NZ TAB and customised services is one such cut back. With the dogs, the in run position is obviously important to see whether a dog was closing or slowing ... gone burger. Box rugs used to be updated after each race and it made for an interesting competition with the bookies as the market could change considerably. Now, the market closes after race 1. And there's no obvious way to track the results during the meeting. The biggest bugbear for me is the awful favicon and naming convention on the browser tabs. The basis of web usability is don't make me think - yet if you have multiple tabs open, it's extremely confusing to find the NZ TAB tab. The concern for me is that is is a basic usability issue that seems to have been completely overlooked.

He was a massive loss. I can't believe no-one's looked to shuttle another son of Kitten's Joy. With the pedigree similarities between his sire El Prado and Zabeel (one by Sadler's Wells and from a daughter of Sir Ivor, the other by a son of Sir Ivor and from a daughter of Sadler's Wells' 3/4 brother Nureyev), the Lear Fan blood bringing in Lt. Stevens (a son of Rough Shod; Sadler's Wells and Nureyev trace back to a daughter of Rough Shod), and 2nd damsire L'Enjoleur being a son of Buckpasser (more common in this part of the world via daughters, particularly through Danehill) from Fanfreluche (a rare daughter of Northern Dancer to balance out the preponderance of sons, though you can also find her on the tail female line of Flying Spur and Encosta De Lago) there's plenty to recommend him pedigree-wise. Then the fact that being American he, and most of his sons, are proven on good ground (generally in America if the turf is too wet they run the races on dirt instead; when you run meetings where you race four days a week for a couple of months you don't want to tear the turf to shreds by running on rain-affected ground) is another positive for this part of the world. In addition to Kameko mentioned in the article, Oscar Performance in the US is kicking goals with five group winners from 122 runners including a Kentucky Derby runner this year (Endlessly, who is a Group winner on turf at 2 and AW at 3, with the AW win being a Derby qualifier). Gendarme in Japan looks interesting; a Gr. 1 placed 2yo at 2000m, a Gr. 1 winning 7yo at 1200m. His dam is by Sunday Silence (we're starting to see the influence of his son Deep Impact down here) and his second dam is by Danzig (nice to see a daughter of Danzig to counter the sons like Danehill and Green Desert). His third dam is the dam of the "Iron Lady" Lady's Secret, a US Hall of Famer. -

you should offer to pay the salaries of the presenters for another 2 hours but you probably can only afford 2seconds -
It's a tough one. On one hand, any true jumping fan prefers a Steeplechase with live fences (Riccarton, Te Rapa, Trentham, Te Aroha) rather than the glorified hurdles. On the other, it's nice to have the Manawatu features actually run in Manawatu for the first time in three years. It's a shame Awapuni lost it's last couple of live fences with the track renovations.

Do you actually realize Entain have taken over senz in NZ ? We have discussed the subject in depth, it is a bit odd on Saturday they knock off the so called racing show at 5 then have reruns, thats stupid, No problem with it being a sports/racing station but it can do a bit better that at present. How handy would it be having a talk back show like Des Coppins had, answering questions about issues,?

Gold Trip retired to Lovatsville near Seymour. Standing at $8800. Beautiful horse. Melbourne Cup, Turnbull Stakes winner. Just beaten in Caulfield Cup and Cox Plate. Earned close to $7m.

As I said if Entain are so awesome and have all this money floating around, how about investing a bit on starting Radio Pacific up again for full-time racing coverage with people that know the racing industry. Not that ridiculous Senz radio crap with goons on it. I am pretty sure it would go down awesome with the racing public, driving in the car, outside in the garden, going for a walk. Just turn the know. Entain .. think about what your customers want, not what you want
