The thing is with the Olympics is, you end up watching any old thing and you come up with some memorable gems. So yesterday I caught the 45 year old woman gymnast from Uzbekistan (sp?) other 8th and final Olympics. 45 years old??? and sailing off that one (vault?) where you sprint up to it and then flip off multiple times, like a young whipper snapper. Then I caught the Netherlands cyclist celebrating winning the Road cycle race....except the real winner (an Austrian) had finished 2 minutes earlier. Jubilation quickly turned to tears. Then I had the misfortune to watch our NZ goalkeeper look like he wouldn't get a game for a social team, down at the local park. Not one f..k up , but three howlers. Finally I saw that young swimming chick turn up and swim a new PB and NZ record. The look on her face when she realised what she'd done was priceless. It's all great. And this morning a bronze in Triathlon - except I missed that - got to work some of the time.!!!

I'll be watching the Olympics, now they're off and running. I'm personally no great fan of "the knee", but it's the "in thing" and we'll be seeing it for a while yet. No need to ditch the whole thing because of it. Just tune in shortly after the start and you'll never know it happened.

The irony is that while Mike Hosking will say he's "holding the Govt to account" no one holds him to account, for the things he gets wrong. Example: Early on in the Covid crisis he loved to go on about how Sweden had it right and the NZ Govt had it wrong in the way they addressed the Covid crisis. Now he never mentions Sweden and no one says "Oh Mike you got that well wrong, didn't you". Any texts to this effect aren't read out. Mike Hosking is just a "shock jock". He lacks credibility and the "shock jock" statements he makes are never examined detail, as a Politicians would be.

Yeah; I see Ex President Trump; the GOP and their media lackies have got a real hatchet job going on Dr Fauci. They're using the same blueprint they've used to discredit other US public servants. These Dr's, heads of FBI, Ambassadors, etc etc just get on with their job; try to serve their country as best they can; try to correct exaggerations and straight out lies, while showing great restraint in how they comment. The problem is, this restraint makes them soft targets and they get cut down for political gain. It's a disgrace really, and lets hope we never see the like in NZ.
