It is ironic that this is being run mid week now ,as taking this from its original dates has made it what it is now. A mid week handicap. Hope the Wellington racing club get there act together and bring back the 3200 cup as that was the true guide to a horse with a chance at Melb in the spring. Is it to late to save racing in NZ or are the morons going to kill it off all together.

I disagree ,Gaultier will prove to be the better horse in time ,no excuse had every chance but either he doesnt stay yet ,or might like being ridden cold for that last run. I may be giving my age away but i can remember them trying to get Kiwi to run handy in a race ,and he dually ran last. Just a thought to ponder as you will find the Bayer was no fluke .

I punted Gaultier as i thought he would get the run which he did ,but either he doesn,t stay or could be better off ridden cold. With open mind on who is going to win the derby now it will be VSB with out a doubt. Bad draw came from last out wide with the rail out 7.5 ,making it a on pace race. There is no way anything will beat VSB in the Derby but the draw.

T Lee was the best comentator in NZ by a country mile ,and i agree what ever the issue was could have been sorted because Tonys imput into his calls gave a bit of class to the whole occasion ,which even though i must say the comentaors we have right now are not bad ,there was an empty black hole created when he was replaced.
