Stables got a reaction from LongOwner in Nats Back
I suggest that anyone with an interest in this subject should read Mark Purdon's comments on his website. He expresses his sympathy for those caught up in this sorry business and argues strongly that the RIU reconsider the imposed restrictions for everyone involved. As he states this is going to be a long drawn out affair and in the meantime people should not be restricted from making a living

I agree with you Taku. If they are found guilty then they should be banned for a very long time, until then they are guilty of nothing

All of you are assuming that everyone the police charge is guilty. Why bother with a court system and the assumption of innocence, let's just allow the police to round up anyone they consider suspect and throw them in jail

Every person who backs a horse that finishes down the track will never concede that it was poor selection on their part, it's always blamed on they weren't trying or they pulled it up, it's never because the horse simply wasn't good enough

I don't know how you Aucklanders have the audacity to criticise trotting races in Southland after watching the first trot from Thames today

Royal Aspirations is trotting within the rules of racing as they currently stand in New Zealand and they are not going to be changed just to assist a horse owned by Prodigious to win races. If his mare is good enough she can try and beat Royal Aspirations without the assistance of the judiciary

Perhaps you could explain to me why Ricky May is driving for John McDermott when he normally drives for Graham Court and why Craig Thornley is driving for Graham Court when he normally drives for John McDermott

Hi agree with everything you say about upgrading Alexandra Park. the only thing I would disagree with you about is that the races last night were at Cambridge

A great day for Mark Purdon and Natalie Rassmussen today. Great trainers, great drivers, great horses. Isaiah in particular deserved his win, he has been unlucky in many of the big races.

In your own way this post reflects the thinking of the vast majority of professional trainers in all codes and therein lies the problem. Its all about winning  with little thought given to the long term health of the horse or dog. They think they have to take that  attitude or they wont succeed. They also know that the greater majority of owners will drop them quickly if a rival trainer finds that edge .HRNZ think they cant disqualify all the trainers that are returning positives because the only ones left would be  sheldons so called under achievers ,i.e. the honest ones.  Attitudes of trainers ,owners and those handing down penalties all need to change if another blue magic scandal is to be prevented. Those in the real world know that performance enhancers are being used as much now as they were then.People like sheldon say thats just the way it is,accept it. IA bit sad really

Sheldon, as I have suspected all along and you have now confirmed you support  CHEATS.
You are clearly involved in this saga, as I also suspected.
Do not reply to my post - I do not interact with CHEATS
If you choose to reply, you will be ignored
    Enjoy the wonderful sport

Sheldon, Stables hasn't put anyone down at all.
He has brought to our notice a very very serious event that was not public. We thank Stables for that.
Not one poster has expressed a comment or called for the hangman.
Think you are being a bit tough on Stables.
For a moment reflect on the fact that non racing folk consider racing dodgy and full of crooks. Racing has a very poor public image to change. This type of issue does not help. What would they think of this sort of "supressed" information?
This is a very serious issue on many fronts.

I've said it before and I'll go again, apathy has crept across the tazzie and is ensconced good and proper in Godzone. With the exception of the owner of RC and a few tothers, most appear to accept your lot. So I'll probably go on racing mine here as nada, zilch will change. It could of course, all the seven dwarfs needed was Snow White fellas, the closest you will come is the bloke who owns that bar/restaurant Cowboys at the Viaduct, at least he has a good heart, a brain to match and has some dosh too, but why piss it away on a lost cause, cos that's what it will be if you don't give a damn.
For f--ks sake, grab the bit and run…….sell off the liabilities, it's a sellers market if you didn't know, invest in revenue rich commercial investments, relocate and subsidise the trainers that need to be relocated and who want to be relocated, incentivise them!!!! and reward the trainers that accept accordingly.
Yes there will be casualties, life is like that, but the majority will benefit while the minority will learn a life lesson. Cruel, no, just a pathway to profitability. But in the end you guys will work it out, there's been robust debate on this thread, boy didn't I start something last night, so at least you have crept to first base…..argument. All I need now is for someone to steal second and we have game on!

The first race at addington tonight was a perfect example of why amateur drivers should never be able to compete in tote races

Stables got a reaction from Wobbler in This is whats wrong with Harness Racing
The maiden race at Addington on Friday is a classic case of how unfair the current handicapping system is. Out of a total of 9 horses 4 have won races including Machs A Flyin 1 win, $3000 in stakes, Mighty Flying Mac, 1 win $43,128, Hard Copy, 2 wins, $25,439 and Sir Tosti Mac, 2 wins, $38,171. That means there are only 5 genuine non winners in the field. In my opinion no race winners should be allowed to start in a maiden or non win race. Addington administrators wonder why they get few nominations for their meetings. This race is a perfect example of why
