Stables reacted to Pure Steel in Three years tomorrow punters
Your hatred is enormous. Are you even allowed to post personal insults like that. Attacking site posters is VERY POOR form.
I have defamed Nobody , UNLIKE your every Post it seems, getting stuck into people doing their jobs, like Inca personnel for example. (and general posters on the site even lol)
Really don't think that me saying 'Well done Inca' and ' we can all look forward to Cup week" , and 'court cases cost a lots of money' is showing any form of jealousy. Aren't we allowed to say that sort of thing without your approval ?? what are the race cafe rules ? abuse allowed by some like yourself, and opinion Not from site members ?

Stables reacted to Pure Steel in Three years tomorrow punters
Too right . Having investigations does help keep the harness racing on as level a playing field as can be achieved, with everyone wanting a piece of the pie.
Inca helped throw a caution to all who were treading a fine line, and a Great thing that leading harness racing participants weren't 'uncovered' so to speak, as that would of been tarnishing to the industry. Is excellent very few were effected as that might have brought the industry to it's knees., and now we can carry on back to normal and enjoy another Cup week soon !!!
as for $10 mill , that's nothing worth worrying about, Most court cases have winners and losers , but is worth giving it a shot, even though the costs are enormous. But better to have trials and investigations, even if they fail, than just let crim's and dishonest persons, wander around doing what they like .

Stables reacted to tasman man in Forbury Park uses
Meomy,
I read your paperspast posts with interest.....however I doubt few do cos they from a bloody long time ago !
Had to laugh at the one about the rugby folk objecting to a lease for use to rugby league. As recent as the 1970's the Otago Rugby folk used to send their spies to the few Rugby League games at Ellis Park ,Kaikorai looking to find Rugby players playing the enemy code so they could slap a life ban on them.
So many of the league players assumed false names to avoid expulsion or the attention of the police as they on 'wanted' lists.
Meomy I wonder what your passion is....is it as a historian , an environmentist/greenie ,a racing lover or do you just not trust any one .
That is anyone from the first immigrants to NZ who set up the rules of the land ,and developed our cities and towns.
And again ,are you a member of any racing club and do you take your questions /concerns to the racing clubs AGM's ?

Stables reacted to Maximus in Ellerslie Sale Plans
There's a lot of emotive nonsense in these posts. Yes, the famous Ellerslie Hill has history on its side ...but the future of NZ racing depends on a viable, sustainable model in Auckland for the 21st century - and that means realising the asset value of underproductive land. Avondale, take note, Swallow yer pride, sell the land and invest in the greater good while taking a seat or three at the table for the next 100 years, instead of moaning about injustices of the past. That grandstand at Avondale is in itself a huge indictment on your previous and current leaders/management strategy, what an eyesore.
The loss of the Ellerslie Hill is sad - a relative pf mine won a McGregor Grant Chase ad was [placed in the GN Steeples when only a teenager. But he wouldnt want the Hill to stay there just for history's sake, whennn the future of our great sport is at this crossroads. Well done, ARC and Counties RC. Show them the way forward.

Stables reacted to Nelli in Auckland Uncut Jewels - old thinking?
Can anyone explain why the trotters had a handicapped standing start (rating spread of 29 points) while the pacers had mobile starts with bigger point spreads (39 points for mares and 46 points for the boys)?

Stables reacted to Flawed Genius in Glimmer of hope..
Maybe Dalboy is just a fed up with the cheating in the game? As we all should be.
There are only two positions you can take - you're either pro-cheating or anti-cheating.
We all know who the cheats are, but for whatever reason the industry is either unable or unwilling to rid itself of them.
Unlike the cheaters, the stats don't lie. When any trainer consistently gets horses off good trainers and improves them out of sight there's always a reason.
Operation Inca was like a dog with a stick from day one. but they were, and apparently still are, obsessing over the wrong stick!
It's a telling fact about the ineffectiveness of the industries integrity unit that the ONLY people nabbed for cheating since it's inception have been the result of outside information received from anti-cheaters, rather than anything their multi-million dollar investigation fiasco has unearthed!
The cheaters have always been around and always will be in some form, but the majority of the latest incarnation of them are thriving due to the seeming unwillingness of those vested with the job of banishing them, to actually do their job!

Stables reacted to Iraklis in Glimmer of hope..
Dalboy, what the hell makes you think just because he is an ex-policeman he has no 'pets' (your words) in the game and comes into job with no baggage? police officers includin ex officers are partial to a bet or two? annnnd in case you haven't read the news of late, they aint all innocence and light either! you make alot of assumptions and generalisations mate but we have all yet to see if Mr Clement is to be the best news you've heard ever, and whether he does indeed come down hard on cheats etc......we shall all wait with bated breath

Stables reacted to Dalboy in Glimmer of hope..
Finally we have someone with no baggage to racing in charge of the IRU. Being an ex policeman, he won’t have any pets in the game. He wants to come down hard on cheats when he takes over on July 1st, best news I have heard for a long time. Good luck Mr Clement.

Stables reacted to Maximus in Anybody else think Leo has been made the scapegoat here......???
Any person seriously concerned with changing the 'name suppression' law(s) in NZ would have adopted different tactics than merely thumbing his nose at it by knowingly breaking the law.
IMO Leo just got caught out and was made an example of -fairly or not. Can't say I've seen any evidence of him attempting to effect changes in the 'name suppression' laws
IMO Leo 'called out' the system and got.whacked over the head by it for his trouble. Lucky to avoid a jail sentence.

Stables reacted to Flawed Genius in Weanling sale - Success or Disaster?
Economics lesson 101 for those that can't see the big picture problem with these stud sponsored weanling sales.
The horse breeding business is really no different to any other business - you have wholesalers (studs), retailers (breeders) and customers (buyers).
When the wholesalers (studs) start undercutting the retailers (breeders), the customers (buyers) are naturally going to buy directly from the wholesaler (at the weanling sales).
This will result in many retailers (breeders) going out of business because their customers (buyers) can now buy their product in bulk directly from the wholesaler (at the weanling sales) at a much reduced price due to the wholesalers (studs) much lower costs (stud fees).
-
Stables reacted to 2Piper in Weanling sale - Success or Disaster?
Yes ; stud fees advertised is retail. That money is generally split between the actual stallion owner and the stud standing the stallion. The agrement woukd be something around 50/50 .
It is why there was only 7 actual vendors for the whole sale. NZB would rather the smaller breeders to sell on Gavelhouse.
You can get up to 20% discount in retail for multiple mares or early bird payment. The studs get close to 50%
Art Major 14k
Your mare, $11,200 + GST, add vet, working fee and grazing. You need approx 15k to make money.
Their mare, an undisclosed fee to stallion owner ( could be as low as $3500 ; 2005/6 $6,600 ) + average of fixed costs and operating costs .
-
Stables reacted to Flawed Genius in Weanling sale - Success or Disaster?
The big studs continue to talk up the success of their weanling sale but the numbers tell an "interesting" story.
Take Bruce Negus for example, the biggest buyer on the day.
His purchases at Karaka were :
Lot 1 What The Hill – On the Mantelpiece Filly $3,000 (service fee $7000) Lot 22 Downbytheseaside – So Many Words Colt $4000 (service fee $6000) Lot 29 Majestic Son – Susan Colt $9000 (service fee $5000) Lot 43 Sweet Lou – Yasmine Bromac Filly $4000 (service fee $7500) Lot 47 Sweet Lou – Arden’s Pearl Filly $4000 (service fee $7500) Lot 73 A Rocknroll Dance – Chevelle Star Colt $2000 (service fee $5000) Lot 75 Ultimate Machete – Cracka Dawn Colt $3000 (service fee $3000) Lot 95 Downbytheseaside – G B Blaze Colt $4000 (service fee $6000) Lot 101 What The Hill – KC Spur Filly $4000 (service fee $7000) Lot 129 Sweet Lou – Nicky’s Power Filly $3000 (service fee $7500) Total paid: $40,000
Service Fees: $61,500
For the average breeder to have brought these yearlings to market would cost a very conservative $100,000, yet the big studs were prepared to dump these yearlings on the market for $40,000, thereby undercutting their own clients (and devaluing their clients remaining stock).
Who experienced success here?
Certainly not the average breeder!

Stables reacted to Pure Steel in On a positive note
Way, way , waay better these days Poundy,. Late last century most stables had access all the latest 'therapy' milkshakes, elephant juice ,etc until testing and penalties finally caught up. Many trainers out of the game after. The leading Sydney trainer the "Colgate Kid" Gleeson had Bookmakers as owners. That's just asking for trouble (and he got in it alright)
These day RIU and Inca presence keeps everyone more 'honest'? Think of it as a Positive thing !! McGrath , Alford , Kerr ...still some blokes trying things. Actually McGrath penalty seems manifestly excessive. Hope he appeals? but might have been a warning to others by giving such a large penalty (8 years I think) I Love All the Horsemen/women and like you and some others am Totally Glad if Inca folds without any more damage. and NOT taking anyone down. I don't know the make-up (personnel) of the investigators as you do , but too me and most, they just people doing their job.
Let them fail without evidence ! all good. you said there was No evidence. sounds good !. you said they fabricate and lie , sounds Bad ? That happens ALL THE TIME in court. Just go with the positive Note. You Cannot convict Without Evidence. and justice will prevail !!

You might have a grudge against cops/ and ex- cops Poundy Pound, actually a common theme in USA at the moment (as they riot and loot stores as a protest against justice lol...)
BUT remember one thing Without these corrupt officials you hate so much The COMMUNITY Itself would be completely Over-run in days (if not hours) by an avalanche of your accused persons whom are not cops. The Infected sex offenders, rapists, liars, fabricators, gangs, criminals and drunks. And that's just at the races ! Hope they don't Win and hit the town after ????

Kilcoyne, if I want to comment in here on a post already made public, I will do so! FYI the Herald online is a national paper, and as a matter of fact pal, we are commenting on Matt Anderson and what he did, not on any other case reported re the Court Of Appeal! Anderson still did what he did and that is that......

Stables reacted to Iraklis in Matt Anderson
The point is guys there was a victim! and it aint him! and regardless of what or who was involved with whatever, whenever, there is never a reason for smashin over someone just because he could or the opportunity presented itself! regardless of the circumstances there are no excuses for what he did; he made a choice (lifes full of makin choices, he chose wrongly) committed a violent act against someone who couldn't stand up for themselves, and there it is.....
Kilcoyne, he did what he did no one made him, he chose....now he gets to deal with the fallout! and last time I looked mate this was a free country; and once in the public domain my friend everyone in the country is entitled to an opinion on it, read the herald online they invite comment all the time....
Cheers Iraklis

Agree Eastwood, nah P4Pound, there's never mitigatin circumstances for what that clown did, ever! everybody has issues in their lives to deal with, but nobody in their right mind does anything like that; there are places and people out there to help one with any pressures, an stresses in life that may occur; but what he did to my mind deserves a jail sentence an I'm amazed he didn't get just that.....
Cheers Iraklis

Stables reacted to meomy in Warning
@45yearsofharness
Without undermining the harm whatever Covid19 is, Please be mindful we are not America, nor China etc, we are New Zealand with a unique environment like other countries are.
Those countries have widespread use of imitation tobacco products that are slowly but surely been made unlawful & should have been blanket banned in NZ to as they are the cause of many deaths across the world.
The reporting methods of what is Covid 19 across the world is questionable, particularly the testing & symptoms required to state what it is.
Re Masks/ Facecoverings, they are simply a "Guideline" & will never be compulsory wearing as there will always be exemptions & rightly so.
Look up UK Gvt legislation on the use of them.
No one was born with a Mask.
It's natural to breathe naturally & uninhibited.
It's a shame people don't use or carry a Handkerchief.
There was a reason people were gifted Handkerchiefs & a pair of socks for birthdays & Christmas to prevent the spread of illnesses...maybe we need to go back to those days.
It's most unfortunate a blanket approach has been taken to address an illness that like cancer & influenza will impact on individuals & families in many varied ways, subject to one's individual lifestyle choices.
It's most unfortunate the Tobacco industry & Public Health Officers have evaded accountability for their failures.
Incidentally have you noticed where Imitation Tobacco has been legalised younger people are also having Covid related issues?
I say Racing should ban out right the use of Imitation Tobacco on all racecourses until they are proven to be safe with FDA testing.
Racing needs to look at Health & Safety with the recent Vaping etc bill which should never have been passed as it's crested a bigger Public Health issue for everyone.
May I suggest you look up Juul laboratories, Juul v Philip Morris & PM v BAT ongoing court cases, including that schools across USA are undertaking & look at the wider picture.
Bloomfield, Baker & a few others have FAILED to come clean with the public on what's really causing deaths....as they were the ones who have allowed that rubbish in society in the first place without proper procedures in place.

I hope the young lady concerned is ok, not sure why some on this thread are clutching at straws trying to find reasons to support Anderson. It's all about the victim I would have thought, and why isn't the moderator taking down posts where someone refers to people on this thread as c**ts is beyond me.
