There is no rhyme or reason to bleeding , even the vets have no idea . I think it all comes down to whether as an owner you feel your horse has earned a retirement from the track or not . Personally I come from the angle of , that if she was my horse and she bled again or something worse then I couldn't live with myself . IMO there's nothing for her to prove as a racehorse so clearly this is just about earning stake money , good luck to them , but not the road I would go down .

Hi Pam thanks for posting, I would think it would be very unusual for that to happen as a change in surface must affect the original result, apart from the fact some will not run on it. Do you think owners who choose not to race now because of the change in surfaces should get their entry fees refunded...or are the owners just expected to do as they are told???

I was of the understanding that the Pattern Committee did not allow black type status to go with a transfer to an all-weather.

I know some of you are members on other forums.  Brent Gardiner/Leggy/Racingoutsider/Curious has tried to malign myself and RaceCafe on these other platforms. He was placed on moderation here a few months back after he took messages between himself and I and posted them on another forum, for the reason to try to malign me. He then joined here as another identity, secretly, and was caught out last weekend posting under the incorrect name, his fault not mine. I then decided that he would be restricted from posting, not banned for a short period of time as is my right as owner here. This site costs around 6K a year to keep going and then with the comps, which I mostly fund, so people can have some fun and hopefully get some returns, all up its around 8k a year to keep the lights on here so to speak. However I am not a doormat and will not be treated as one. This forum is here for everyone to use but if you choose to disrespect me or the platform I am sorry it will no longer be tolerated and I will ask you to leave. I do not do this so people can criticize me or the forum, it is for people with similar interests to enjoy and if some have issue with how I choose to run my own site then sorry I will be unapologetic about the actions I take. We have huge traffic and people from all aspects of the industry view RC posts, of which I am very proud to say we are the leading forum in this space in New Zealand. I am in two minds...I have had horses bleed then race them again, they ALL bled again after two or three runs. I personally would hate to see her seriously injured as she has nothing to prove, why not let her have babies and enjoy her retirement, she is a once in a lifetime horse, so as I say I am in two minds.  

It was a poor effort, but her fresh up effort was amazing, so what do we take from that? Her fitness gave out, and I hope she puts a hole in them on Saturday. If not, that'll likely be it.
