He's potentially either a nutcase or a plant from another site whose come to shit stir IMO. Star Glory maybe not quite Cup Class, but my sketchy memory has Star Glory beating Gyspy Vance when both had their first starts....so a similar occurrence. My memory on the names is a bit fuzzy but pretty sure the winner was Hurricane Shannon . Think he beat Country something

I think it won a few races around the time of Ken Sefonte's horse so might be the one you're after. Charlie E

Country News jumped into my head as the likely horse as well, but although a nice type I don't think he got to Cup Class Charlie E

Especially from my wife who will often say 'how do you remember all that crap from 35 years ago, but you can't remember where you put your wallet or keys 35 minutes ago Yet to be proven correct, but how I recall it is one of Ian Hilliards horses (Gentle Hurricane?) being in a lead battle with one of them (Gypsy Vance?), and then Star Glory popping out of the trail and nabbing Gypsy Vance. I remember this because I had a bit of fave back then because of her name, Dorothy Bret and Jan beat her. Alf Riston 1,798 Report post Posted Sunday at 07:33 AM Back in the day I had the odd beer or two with Ian who I always thought was a great trainer and under rated driver as well. A career defining win for Ian. She won the Northern Oaks too , and went to Addington for the NZ OAKS but got pipped into 2nd. Victoria Star has a HUGE Claim to Fame too. What might it be ? clue = Interdominion and NZ Cup. Alf Riston and Chestnut
