Dee off the mark in Japan Ben Sporle@bensporle 5 May, 2025 Jockey Mick Dee (Image: Racing Photos) Michael Dee can now tick Japan off the list of countries he has been succesful in, after partnering his first winner at Tokyo on Sunday. Having also ridden winners in Macau and Hong Kong, as well as his native New Zealand and Australia, the 28-year-old got the best out of Ask Come On More in the Fuchu Stakes at his fourth meeting in Japan. Speaking to Racing.com, Dee said it was a relief after five placegetters to get the $2.40 favourite home, having also had to overcome a riderless horse in the straight. "It was a huge relief to get my first winner. My first day riding, I had three seconds, so naturally I thought a winner would've come quickly but that wasn't to be for another 20-odd rides," Dee said. "I've felt I have given most horses every opportunity and some at big odds have run nice races with the right run. "I have been lucky with opportunities, my first weekend riding I had 18 rides and this weekend just gone I had 20 rides. I just need to keep giving horses the best possible chances and hopefully I can get on some better horses." WATCH: Dee wins aboard Ask Come On More Dee said he is basing himself in Tokyo and has been riding trackwork at the Miho Training Centre multiple times a week. With final fields for the weekend's racing released each Friday, jockeys in Japan are then placed under restrictions across the weekend's racing - which requires riders to hand in communication devices. "I have enjoyed all of my experiences so far, it's hard to explain the differences but everything is completely different to Australia or New Zealand, whether it's the amount of people in one small space or even the racing and some of the rules take a little adjusting," he explained. "I have a great agent and manager/interpreter who have made my life super easy over here as the language barrier is very tough." Dee expects to have a ride in Sunday's G1 NHK Mile Cup at Tokyo. That is a big call with only such small numbers racing. Hard to argue though with someone of O" Briens calibre. Will Justify come to the southern hemisphere again? His crop here has had some success but the" best ever in the world "is not justified yet , pardon the pun. Time will tell.

Sure, he won the 2024 election, that is democracy. However, the lying prick claimed that the previous election was rigged without providing any evidence to the Courts. My point is that you support this prick regardless, ignoring all of his faults. But then you support Acts racist policies, so I guess that the tipping point is that you share his racist views.

WHAT MISTAKE , THERE WAS NO MISTAKE , That's where you TDS victims go wrong , you completely fail to recognize the facts , TRUMP WAS ELECTED , HE WON THE ELECTION you don't have to like him but he WON so try to accept that result and in about 3 and 3 quarter years he will be gone , the Trump you describe was well known to the voters but the lefties were caught out lying about Biden to the American people and their replacement candidate was hopeless so effectively no contest . Trumps first 100 days have been sensational and more has been achieved than the Dems achieved in 8 years. All Trump has to do is finalize the Tariffs and he will go down in history as the greatest President in History , fail and the opposite is likely , again you don't have to like him but he won . . -

Hi what is everyones thoughts on this schedule for the 2026 Yearling Sales...... 100th National Yearling Sale to Debut New Format 6 May 2025 Karaka 2026 will mark the 100th anniversary of the National Yearling Sales in New Zealand, a significant milestone to celebrate. In an exciting move, NZB is pleased to announce a fitting new sales format, ensuring that the quality of the 100th National Yearling Sales catalogue is in line with the momentous occasion. Book 1 will be conducted across two full days, composed of approximately 580 horses. Book 2 will immediately follow with a further 290 yearlings the following day. While a third session will also be re-introduced with up to 200 yearlings catalogued to sell on the Thursday. To be known as the Karaka Summer Sale, the day prior will be utilised as an inspection day. “Our goal is to assemble the very best lineup of yearlings, validating our annual yearling harvest as the flag bearing sale for New Zealand breeders with the cream of the crop on offer,” commented NZB’s Managing Director Andrew Seabrook. “While the condensed Book 1 and Book 2 will be full days of selling, the format will be highly advantageous from an international buyer’s perspective. They want to be away from home for as little time as possible during what is an extremely busy sales calendar. “The introduction of the third session is to ensure we have a complete offering for both vendors and buyers, boosted by some attractive sales terms and a $200,000 Karaka Millions bonus.” “The 100 year anniversary is truly an exciting occasion. We are thrilled to be celebrating such a milestone on behalf of the wider industry, and are looking forward to producing one of the best catalogues seen in New Zealand.” Entries for the National Yearling Sales Series open in June, while details for the National Online Yearling Sale are in discussions with timing of that session to be confirmed shortly. -
Of course, your money is on Trump. You will never admit that you made a mistake by supporting the Clown. You know that he is a habitual liar, a convicted criminal and an election denier to name a few but you will back him to the hilt. When he said that he could kill someone in 5 Avenue and he would not lose any support well that was one of the very few truthful statements he has made.

The typical way of politics is that EVERY party is a FAILING PARTY. It might be at the end of a current term, maybe after a second term in power, maybe even a third term if they're extremely lucky, but after that every party fails and it all comes down to a small number of swinging voters (except for the election where LABOUR secured over 50% of the vote on their own). History dictates this, other than in dictatorships, that ever party fails in the short to medium term. New Zealand voters have a tricky situation coming up in 2026. By and large voters appear not to be happy with the current three-party coalition, but who in their right mind would want a government including THE GREENS and TPM FFS. That might be the only thing that saves THE NATS, NZ FIRST and ACT. While New Zealand escaped relatively lightly with 10% ridiculous tariff situations, he has since plonked a 100% tariff on all films made outside of America, and since THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy making giant movies and TV series in New Zealand has been a great employment opportunity for New Zealanders and a great money earner for New Zealand. A 100% tariff won't help either situation.

So what can we expect this week from CF and co. Drop back early and run home late without being put in the race at any point? The Addington meeting also sees Marketplace return home and he will use the $50,000 Garrards Sires Stakes Semi Final to prepare for next week’s Final and as a heat winner he has to start from the outside of the front line.
