gubellini 4,032 Report post Posted May 6 Pleased to note that Russell Warwick will become a Director of the NZTR Board as from August 1. Brings a host of racing and breeding experience to the table. Chair Cameron George departs on July 31. Insider and Gruff 1
Insider 4,097 Report post Posted May 6 Excellent choice in my opinion with the one proviso that he thinks further afield than just Auckland. Over the years I worked closely with Russel and found him to be one of the best, most knowledgeable, balanced etc, however he does come with an Auckland Racing Club background. Just honest , seen a few so called experienced racing people in recent years come on board and everybody's expectations get raised that things will change , and they don't , just more of the same . Tell me what you think he will bring to the table that can make a diff . I would rather start from this position and be pleasantly surprised . Always happy to put my hand up if I'm wrong , can't recall the last time I had to . JJ Flash, Gruff and Pam Robson

But I'd accept you're entitled to be a bit pessimistic. Pam Robson
