  3. awesome old horse, however he will be right up there in the handicaps now. hope he keeps going, awesome horse to watch. so tough
  4. Surely the most improved horse in the last couple of years? With all due respect, was in the second tier of our best 3 year olds. His rise and success has been a massive pleasure and flying the flag for our kiwibreds. What a showing in Japan, especially second up from a bleed.
  5. What site is this scoob? These guys just sound like complete dicks. I have to question my own judgment now, I knew Brodie was a dick, but I thought was a moderately OK dick, sounds like he is the king of dicks

Leo with respect I think the issue highlighted here is not cwj use of whip, but rather the vigour shown in the final 50 meters or so before the post. Especially when you compare how he was approaching the turn and at the top of straight, clear difference can be seen . I agree largely with what u say on use of the whip and I prefer Mr Johnsons style of riding and soft hands, I'm sure the horses appreciate it too. But I think mr Johnson is guilty of sitting up a Lil early on assign.

I looked at the replay. In my opinion only the suspension is fair. I think Mr Johnson is a fantastic jockey however if he rode his mount out fully and with the same vigour from the top of the straight to the winning line his mount would have probably got second. I didn't have a bet in the race but if I had a punt and assign was my anchor in a quinelle I would have felt let down. Irrespective or how Mr Johnson normally rides, I think its very clear from the replay he did not ride with the same vigour towards the line as he was at the top of the straight and there doesn't appear to be any commentary to suggest there were concerns on his mount were he had to ease up.
  8. holy hell, what is in this blokes drink, he is one troubled cookie. Are these emails or private messages to someone? because it doesnt really make any sense the rambling in this blokes messages
  9. Neil that was a very frustrating watch, the horse was bolting, and I was on. I thought at the 500-600 the money was jam and i was home and hosed it was cruising that good. Luck can be a bitch at times
  10. Out of curiosity does anyone have any stories of any successful late bloomers? Any horses that didn't start there career until very very late and did OK?
  11. I must admit this thread has been an entertaining read. personally I am grateful for the comps being there, ill choose whether or not i have a go. I prefer they are listed in the TB section because this is usually the only section I pay attention too. Ive never won, and probably wont however Im just thankfull to those who go to the effort of running these and putting forward their own money for the benefit of others and giving us the choice to enter and have a crack. if you find they of no interest, its easy, dont open the thread. for me personally its a non subject and was a waste of time even raising this topic as an issue to begin with.
  12. yea see i just dont understand that. Atleast you only need to beat 1 or two home to get a cheque, i hope you get the large end of the prize mate good luck!
  13. you have to admit, looks very very average, and if we keep getting fields like this will no doubt at some point loose its group 1 status? personally, araldo looks the goods for mine. what strikes me as particularly odd, is that we are reknown for breeding stayers, good stayers, but have bugger all proper staying races. By this i mean races across most rating bands that are 2400, plus
  14. bogans yes!! hillbillies, well def not my part of west. and what id give to trade some of the folk ive seen for some peacefull hillbillies
  15. i personally find the best guide to use trying to study form is NZ racing website. provide details on sectionals, plus you can see race replays. I dont trust the comments or description were, it stormed home, no gaps, plugged, i prefer to make my own mind up. NZ racing website allows you to see all race replays. you were offered a free subscription by the informant, i guess only to help you, was actually a kind gesture, and you respond like that.
  16. i hope so, he is a gelding and is lightly raced, whats a year? it goes quickly. He has a great chance i hope of coming back. He was a positive for this industry, and gave racing positive attention, he was a good story for racing, and was fun watching him and the hype he brought to the industry
  17. Bit harsh there admin. Large number of good trainers have been jockeys
  18. You lot are tearing admin a new arsehole on here. Sorry admin I appreciate this is at your own expense but this thread has had me pissing myself with laughter
  19. This has been bloody entertaining

  21. Leggy, 1. it was not clear at the time when conversation related to Mr Breslin came up that there were multiple victims, and allegations of victim(s) that were under 16. 2. you are trying to dig up old dirt. it was made very clear the reasoning's for questioning the fine imposed on Mr Breslin. It is still a matter of fact, he is not currently charged with any criminal offence related to his hand touching that young girls inner thigh. it may explain now why perhaps the RIU tried to be so heavy handed, because in light of recent facts, you would suggest it is perhaps it is the least in which he deserves. But that wasn't clear at the time. And the RIU's findings were only specific to this one event. And going back to the initial topic, sticking strictly to the facts only, on the occasion in which Mr Breslin inappropriately touched the young girls inner thigh, he was not criminally convicted. So therefore, it was reasonable to question on what grounds the RIU could impose fines in what can be at times a very loose term "bringing racing into disrepute". In the instance of the initial charge by the RIU, the other question was how does the personal and private actions of Mr Breslin then bring racing into disrepute, as that ultimately means the general public opinion of NZ racing would then change, and would have a negative and detrimental impact on NZ racing. Maybe that is all they had at the time in which they could charge him with? But I question how his actions would make anyone think negatively of this industry, or how it would change public perception. You along with others almost came across as though some here such as myself were supportive of Breslin, or were implying that his behaviour was condoned, in which it was clear at the time no one did.
  22. I guess in light of recent events, it may put into context why RIU etc tried to impose the punishment they did
  23. there are people here that have come forward to share their stories aquaman. I asked popsy, because I understood, and was hoping to seek clarity, that some matters here are currently under investigation, or victims are being spoken too by appropriate organisations already. Are you able to verify or confirm the above popsy?
