Uriah Heap reacted to Chris Wood in Cambridge Synthetic on a Saturday
This was the first time the transfer option was used , probably lots to be learned from it, but let’s not keep canning the all weather track.
You have a right to decide where and when you want to run your horse, Tauranga was not a viable option due to the rain and a track that was not going to be suitable to race on going by the weather forecast for Friday and Saturday.
The decision was made, well done to NZTR for making an early announcement, caterers, staff all sorts had to change their schedule to accomodate the change, even the weather changed, but Tauranga was still going to be bottomless, and maybe not fit for racing.
The meeting was held, a lot scratched without giving their horses the chance to see if they could handle it, you will never know if you don’t try them on it.
I for one think the right decision was made, and no I didn’t have a runner in the original Tauranga fields.
I find the programming an issue, so many maiden races each meeting which is great, but bugger all R 60/65 to take up the slack for the horses that have left maidens to progress to the meetings that are being held on a two week in between basis….no logic there!

Uriah Heap got a reaction from Ohokaman in Trump written off
Waystar Royco - Fox News certainly agrees with you Tripple A. Split screen of Biden and Trump with headline in regard to Biden reading, "Wannabe dictator speaks at White House after having his political rival arrested."
Tom Wambsgans had to have signed off on that headline.

Uriah Heap got a reaction from Gruff in Tina Turner
Those two NRL promo's featuring Tina Turner, were slick, had a huge impact on crowd numbers; and were far ahead of their time in 1988-89.
They still make for great viewing now.

18 years for Rhodes. Good job.
He did exactly what then President Trump had asked him to do. "Stand down and stand by." Then on 6 January when the call came to action; he acted. Now he pays the price for that.

Uriah Heap got a reaction from Gruff in Measles
What a right old Anti-Vax Wankfest you boys have got going in this post.
In the three months from October to December 1918, influenza killed 9000 people in New Zealand. No Deep State conspiracy; no Big Pharma; no fake news; just a lot of dead people.

Uriah Heap got a reaction from Gruff in Drug users and fornicators
An idea toward solving the problem of drug addicted and sexual deviant Rugby League players bringing the game into disrepute.
For one month after the end of their season there is a moratorium on all penalties for misconduct, pus a media ban on reporting the same. This would include snorting cocaine; not obeying Police direction; group sex recorded on cell phones; adultery; punching your father-in-law and having sexual connections with consenting dogs. However it would not cover taking a cab to a woman's house, who you have never met and having sex with her against her will. The player would have to cop that one.
I feel if the boys can get all that pent up energy and testostrone out of their system over that one month, then the rest of the year might proceed generally controversy free.

Exactly! Gruff's research involves scrolling the internet for opinions, which support his own biases. I'll take the scientists studies any day.

Gee Chevy. You've surpassed your normal low standards in this post. Not only have you trumpeted your Eurocentric view of the world, but right at the end you manage to include homophobia as well.

It's raining with floods in Melbourne. It's the weather pattern. Rain on the East coast's of Aus and NZ. It'll come right again next year! Maybe!!

I find it surprising that the Tarzino has been placed under "Alert", while the Livamol has not.
In recent years the Livamol has attracted horses far below Group One ability.

Have the bottom team relegated to the Heartland Comp. That would retain their interest!

If Avery thinks he won't find any domestic violence; kids in poverty; obesity; and bullying in schools over in Aus, he's dreamin mate.

6exs was right all along. Donald Trump surely is the new Messiah. All he needs to do is think about something and it will come to pass. Praise the Lord!

Uriah Heap reacted to diesel in Trump written off
The original thread title 'Trump written off', and he should have been. Just like any other poor performing liability as in business. I recall some years ago the tv program The Apprentice, I watched 1 episode and thought who the hell does this guy Trump think he is? He was a bully with an ego bigger than any state in America, and I never watched that crap again. And then some time later this guy somehow became president of the USA, couldn't believe it, still can't. Anyhow, now that Trump has been defeated via election, he just cant/won't move on. His behavior is reminiscent of a sulking spoiled brat that didn't get his own way. Enough is enough Donald, off you go.

That 500,000 pounds for a Group One at Royal Ascot, converts to $875,000 Aus.
Emphasises the amazing money on offer in Sydney racing these days.

In regard to former President Trump, there is nothing coming out of the Congressional Hearings into 6 Jan 2021 that cause you to go, "Oh, that's a surprise."
Donald Trump's actions around this time reflect how he has acted throughout his entire life. In business and in politics.
Ruthless promotion of his own interests; self-serving lies and embellishments; refusal to listen to advice that counters his agenda; rewarding those who agree with him; burning anyone who does not; etc.
You can't have person like that as President. The onus is on Republicans to gather some moral fibre and find an alternative

Uriah Heap got a reaction from Gruff in Can I have my stats back please!
I've looked at your form history Atheist. 183 starts for no wins and three placings (at Wairoa, Reefton and Blenheim). At one stage you went out for a five year spell, while your trainer tried to work out why you continually tailed off by 10 lengths. You just need to suck it up and work your way up through the rankings. However, won't be easy now they've shut down Waipuk, Stratford and Marton.

Any good Australasian horse travelling to the Northern Hemisphere to compete is exciting, although not without risk.
I'd get up in the middle of the night to watch her races.
