  1. On the NZ TAB website under the page heading Today's Meetings, we are given the option of having a punt in this terminating Pick 6; M20 Randwick Terminating Gallops Pick6 The problem is...……..the races are at Warwick Farm. M11 Warwick Farm
  2. Wouldn't it be slightly ironic, if at the end of all this, Dean and Cameron George swapped roles. No, on second thought, who would hire Cameron?
  3. "largely inapplicable"...…….I disagree Leo. The report had plenty of accurate substance to it and what was needed was strong leadership to implement the recommended changes. I would have paid V'landys whatever he wanted to lead the team (there is no one in NZ capable IMO) to get things changed and sure, he would have steam rolled over some and ruffled plenty of egos along the way, but that is what is needed. Sort out the bloody mess we are well and truly ensconced in. Dean doesn't have the experience or the battle hardened persona to do the job, and that is not a criticism of the man himself.
  4. I have heard from a number of sources in the past hours that the Victorian jockey at the centre of today's scare flew from Melbourne to Sydney to ride at the Randwick trials on Thursday March 12. He only had the one ride on a horse named Super Seth. He flew back to Melbourne later that day and a person with the virus was seated nearby. If he does prove positive, and we all have fingers crossed he isn't, it will have huge ramifications to our jockey community.
  5. Doesn’t the Mongrel Mob have a debt collecting arm? Yes, they do and very effective they are to. It's called Work and Income.
  6. And to be fair, there are others whose love affair with the stable might be described as platonic addiction.
  7. Which says more about the lawyers than the law. I forget who said it but it seems appropriate in this instance: "A lawyer will do anything to win a case, sometimes he will even tell the truth."
  8. Cheers for that. I recall in my youth going to most race days, both gallops and trots at Ascot. In my early high school days, I had a holiday job painting the running rail closely supervised by the then track manager Mr Dalton (I think he was Jo-Anne's grandfather). Mike used to ride a lot for the Ellis stable if my memory is in working order. In later high school years, I used to cut cocks on the chain at Makarewa……..naturally I loved the runs of ewe lambs. I still recall being asked to go and get a left hand knife for the supervisor during my first week. The roar of laughter from the boys on the chain when I returned was heartfelt.
  9. I have it on first hand authority that HQ is currently similar to a Fawlty Towers B & B. Basil is struggling, those that have been loyal to him for many years through different organisations, are now feeling well out of their depth. There is, apparently, also strong evidence to suggest that Sybil may have packed her bags.
  10. What is that good Southland man Mike Lawson doing these days? I presume retired. Was a legend at Ascot Park.
  11. A suggestion.....why don't you buy WINX with all your winnings, and bring her over to race at Hastings?
  12. They both look like they have just come from a JIGGERY POKERY CLUB in downtown SmellARat.
  13. Excellent post. Well presented. We are going backwards at a rapid pace. The atmosphere at Group 1 day at Hastings was akin to being at a funeral. The spark has gone out of the game, and quite frankly, I don't think the stripes give a stuff anymore. It's become mundane.
  14. Dam right Sonny..........ya doing a great job
  15. Actually Gaz, with one very notable exception, you being a very succesful punter, you very much remind me of Ted West........and I mean that in the most complimentary of ways.
  16. Get stuck in to em Gazza. Give it the old one two sucker combo and the kick em in the nuts follow up. There's obviously some juice left in that dried up old body of yours yet.
  17. A fair comment !!!!!! Is this forum going to become the defence for the accused?
  18. Seriously ????? That heart rendering tear jerker of a testimony should get a couple of month's reduction - but only if you cry very loudly in the witness box #justsaying
  19. Did you hear the one about the orange and the banana ?
  20. Apparantly not, if it involves your Farty mate.
  21. Listen here your intolerant old twat. Dog racing is the new "thingy". What's not to love ? The cocking of the leg and the squating of the bitches on the way to the boxes is absolutely must watch viewing......and last night we got to see the two dog tango run over a lap and a half at the hallowed Whanganui saucer track. I was fizzing at the bung for 45 minutes. Those doggies made Standardbreds look like Farty Too Much overdosed on constipation tablets. It was exhilarating and compulsive viewing. God it was exciting. I can't wait till next year's edition.
  22. Jack, Amen to you too. All the best.
  23. That's a piss weak effort Jack, and you know it. They said $20 million initially. Now it's $32 million and the reality is it will be closer to $200 million when and if it ever happens, according to those in the industry who are experts. You welfare folk are great spending other hard working people's money Jack. If you and I stood on a street in 50 New Zealand cities or towns I guarantee you the majority would not be in favour of spending any more on Pike River. Enough is enough. It's time to stop the charade. Pike River was a horrible tragedy but MOVE ON FOR FARKS SAKE.
  24. It's obvious you are in urgent need of some AS cleansing Farty. At great expense I've managed to get you some of this elixir ............take the whole bottle. It's the UDR of AS lickers.
