I backed her and had given her little hope when last on the inside with 800 to run. Frank knew what he was doing though and didn't panic, waited for the gaps to improve though them approaching the turn and got to the outside at just the right time. tasman man 742 Report post Posted February 24, 2012 ....yes , it should be bottled and put on training tapes etc. But it was a terrible field , a $5500 stake ,and the time was over 2min 50 ,with 59 last half. Well back , he saved ground from the 800m when half the field were beaten , cut the corner and got up in last stride. Certainly 10 out of 10. Very lucky it was a field of absolute battlers and he got the breaks that he did otherwise I am sure you would have been beying for blood. He must have known that everything else would stop. As to Frank's drive - well I prefer to leave my comments where I made them during (and after) the race, on the first floor of the public stand.
