I think ritza jack @$31.00 is value. He was a extremely good before his injury and if he has come back even only 90% he will be a top contender

Gives me shivers up my spine to think he is coming back into the game. Handing out licenses in weet-bix packets again are they? Why should he even be considered when nzgra banned him for 10 years (7 according to houndfan). 10 years is too long of a sentence in my opinion to make you even eligible for consideration.

Couldn't understand that either dusty. Very talented chaser but first look + traveling. Wouldn't touch it unless it paid $2.80+

Swab official misheard stipe over rt and wasn't with dog after race
Was allowed to be hosed down with other dogs
Not until after dog had been hosed some one realized.

Im only guessing that the semis of both finals are the earliest races to either a) allow travelling trainers a chance to get away at a reasonable hour. allow time for swabs to be conducted on the first two past the post who will be in the finals. Not so great for punters, but viable for L.Ps and the club for efficiency.

On the race replay on the dogs website - 30th September, go to 10:35 (minutes on youtube clip) and you can clearly see the starter talking on his cellphone during the head on.

    Christchurch 3rd October:
Judicial report: Licenced Handler Mr M Lin was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure his cellular device was switched off when handling pre race.

This sounds like the device went off making a sound, yet he wouldn't have realised.

If the Manawatu starters phone went off, he blatantly continued use of it.

Gary, yes the shotput champ has somewhat thrown the rock on the railroads, but guess what, its quite often what you do on others thread. See, its annoying. So maybe it make you less likely to do it in the future.

    and also,
well done to rosemary and the team, a great achievement

Bill took Speed Legend to Auckland before the Wanganui Heat, unfortunately Speed Legend did not make the final.
I always think its a good idea to give the dogs a look at the track before the finals, but its up to the trainers to make that call.
I think it is a great idea to have the heats at different tracks, meaning the best from each region can make it into the final (or the lucky ones in the heats)
I wouldn't want it for any of the bigger Group 1's, but for the minimum Group 1, great idea.
Would be like each region having heats at their tracks for a final between them - eg (Auckland & Waikato - Final at Either - Manawatu and Wanganui, and Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill)

As for coverage, I thought it was good.

    All dependant on each case.
I think it would be as follows.

50/50 - No charge, trainers keep vouchers.
Training Fees - Charged to Owners, Owners keep vouchers.
Training Fees - No charge to owners for travel - Trainers keep vouchers.

Maybe the stipe did have a word with him, but decided not to include it in the judical report.
I watched the race, and was definately over the top. But the young man probably didnt know the effects he could have on the other participants in the race.
agree about the catching though. Stipes definately should have had a word with him, as it is dangerous for him and the other dogs.

hopefully someone did talk to him, so he doesnt do it again.

Hand times should NOT be included in the official books. Website, form guides, anywhere where times are important they shouldnt be there. Gives the punters false info.
