It's a sorry day when we have to invoke  spiritual gestures to save racing.

Look it is elementary. PW says it's matting on the surface of lush grass, so its the mown grass thats not been harvested. Now there is dead grass thatch and they have put sand on to make it grippy. Hopefully we dont get horses affected by kick back.

Good two miler Stodge. Won the NZ and Auckland Cups over 3200m. Wants good ground definitely.

Nerula Jim was 92.

The 2.02 time is misleading.   Look at the splits at the top of the replay and the first 200 is 15.14 despite her coming out of the gates like a bull!!   Then she racks off mid 11s. I think the distance was circa 2040 (I have no idea why - the rail was out on the bend but that doesn't explain 40m). In summary;
- This was an exceptional performance against quality opposition. Nothing the other jocks could have done. The race was over by the 1000!
- In October Jenni was 3 wins from 22 starts. Now she's racked up 4 G1s and produced an amazing performance. I'd love to know the back story - on her third trainer and didn't race for 10mths at one point.
- What amazing viewing! I backed a loser and was screaming for Jenni at the 300. Poetry in motion

I think it was either last start , or the one before, when they referred to him as 'handy type'. The winner of $10 mill, slightly better than handy I would have thought.  😆🙄

It is almost comical. 
What grinds my gears is the swagger of the people involved in this, as if everything they touch turns to gold. This attitude is encouraged by the likes of Guerin whose interviews of Ellerslie top brass are conducted solely from the kneeling position.

I was staggered at that race track of the year thing that Ellerslie won. Te Rapa has carried racing in the north for the last couple of years. Without Te Rapa northern racing would have had to close down. And to think they want to get rid of Te Rapa as well.

I see Hastings isn't going to be ready for the 27th April meeting now , hence another reshuffle of CD meetings .
Seriously you couldn't make up the shambles with our tracks over the last 2 seasons in particular .
If someone had said 5 years ago this was going to happen with all our major tracks even the most skeptical among us would have scoffed .
Just as well they didn't get their way and close all the tracks they wanted to quickly , I think , and I could be wrong , but I think Te Rapa is the only track that hasn't had a meeting canned for an unsafe surface . That alone speaks volumes about the state of our racing .
Ellerslie , Trentham and Riccarton , our supposed flagship tracks are currently letting the industry down in a major way , along with Hastings and Awapuni , New Plymouth and to a lesser extent Otaki , the CD has an endemic problem all of their own . 
Rudderless doesn't even start to describe the leadership .
And here's a thought to finish with , what if Entain hadn't come along ??????

Ease up boss.  We cant be giving those Bonecrusher folks any oil for the weekend 😂

The biggest issue is getting folk on course, without BGP the numbers would be thin
Our DNA not like Aussies at all, even the young ones over their flock to the races
Our stupid attempt to “corporatise” racing was a monstrous fail and those that left, like me, ain’t returning ….
