  1. Lumping it on Buenos Noches , 6.5 into 4.8 . Come in Memphis , you obviously got that mortgage on the house .
  2. Oh I could be distracted for a lot less , I'm not greedy .
  3. He's got the right draw as against the mare drawn in , and getting a bit of weight off her , and Shinn is up .
  4. He gave it up because it was becoming a distraction , apparently , not because he felt he was in the wrong . Genuinely didn't think he was doing anything wrong . WRONG .
  5. So I've just seen that they are doing the same at Tauranga , a ho hum meeting on the same day as Trenthams second day then a G2 run the following Saturday , WHY ? It just seems inane , what is their rationale ? it's beyond me .
  6. What I don't get , aside from the track issues , is why are they running a meeting the week before a major G1 race meeting . This has become the norm with NZTR , run a ho hum meeting the week before a major race is to be run on the same track . Surely common sense dictates that you run your best races on the best surface , so run the other day after the main meeting . Now the outcome is the best horses are running in the best races on a substandard surface , it would be a different story if our tracks were absolute top surfaces but as we know and the thread is discussing they simply aren't . Time that more thought was put into our dates , at present it amateurish and lazy , just keep doing what we always have . I have said this many times , our whole calendar needs an overhauling .
  7. All up perhaps , but they do normally let us know when a big bet is finishing .
  8. I would say that most jockeys here don't even understand that it's the 2nd horse that actually dictates the pace that a race is run at . Something that has crept into races that does my head in is jockeys taking their horse to the front one off the fence by 1/2 a length , why not just take it forward and cross to the fence . But as you say PS I'm no expert either .
  9. It's an inexact science , who is expected to lead and who ends up leading are 2 completely different things . The horse most expected to lead in the Derby yesterday ended up 4/5 back on the fence . Even if the expected leader does indeed end up there one of the bad habits that has crept into racing is the jockeys taking the pace right out of the race , actually whoever leads usually slows the race down . I've given up trying to work out where my bet will position up as I find that very few horses are ridden the same way on a regular basis . It's a hit and hope IMO .
  10. Set weights M , Timmy is the only gelding in the field .
  11. Haha , I thought he was an Aussie as well , losing it . It was slim at the end .
  12. Was nice to see that Mcginty wasn't propped up by the Ockers for once , go the CD boys . Great comp all day .
  13. Ellerslie R5 # 5 R6 # 1 R7 # 8 R8 # 9 R9 # 6 Randwick R5 # 8 R6 # 4 R7 # 2 R8 # 1 B/B Flemington R7 # 3 R8 # 3 B/B R9 # 9 Thanks SNM , good luck to our opponents , GO team McGinty , hopefully I can hold up my end today , will make a nice change .
  14. Your yelling again , anger management classes not working ?
  15. We'll all be thinking of you Idol . Sure thing to fire this weekend .
  16. Yeah well no one else talks to him about it in the main cafe , must be feeling lonely .
  17. What do you use to dissolve the super glue that is stuck to the arses of the incumbents ? and can we get it in bulk because there is plenty to shift ?
  18. They are now looking at date and program changes , perhaps pushing Trentham back a week ?
  19. Geez , along with Waipuk , there's a lot of cups run at Hastings . As you say Pam adding all those meetings to the ones they ran themselves are we surprised that the track can't handle it .
