  1. Dear me Pogo. Many years, long time no speak, but you still have the ability to make me smile.
  2. Long time since I posted here my children. I remember the awesome day I had at Hastings when Tony signed my knickers for me. An amazing memory no one can take away. Sorry to see you go T. Lee. One of the best. Regards, Irish
  3. 'Nonsensical' - what a lovely word. I have made it Word Of The Week. Sorry Pam there's no prize, merely my admiration
  4. Still can't place a bet. Have emailed TAB so shall wait and see..
  5. I did all that Shodsie and, just for a moment, thought Bob was my Uncle (well he was, but he's long dead and buried) I was home and hosed and about to give you a big kiss. Oops, no kiss for you my love. My stake changes to the same for win and place, then I have a message 'dear me duckie, you have an error. Best you go wash the dishes, feed the cat then come back and have another go' - or words to that effect. Unibet does the same as you mention. Opens a Win Box and Place box and then, my treasure, Bob is your Uncle. Thank you for trying to help. That was kind of you.
  6. I have a question. I tried to place a bet at Cambridge but fiddled and buggered around for so long I gave up and bet elsewhere. My question is: (remember I've only had one try) Can you not bet a different amount for win and place on the one bet slip now?? Do I need to do the Win bet first then another bet for the Place? We need the Romans. They conquered the world. A new TAB website would have been a five minute job to them. Good luck punting over the weekend everyone.
  7. Neither can I. I was hoping someone else could. Perhaps we could compile a list of "unfiner' moments.
  8. You're doing better than me. I went to the Deposit section and clicked Add A Card. That was the end of that. "Error. Come back later" or words to that effect. Thank goodness for my Aussie TAB, Ladbrokes and Unibet accounts. New website doesn't seem to be one of their finer moments - although perhaps I'm being too harsh.
  9. That is was. 7 sleeps to go!!!
  10. I see Carlton Draught are releasing 30,000 slabs. Jeez C.T. that's barely enough to drown an Aussie thirst I have to say: what great marketing. Not to mention the money they'll make Are you in for the Cox Plate??
  11. Just checking - in case my mind is atrophying (which wouldn't surprise me) - if everyone is going to see WINX at the Valley why would they be expecting to see her at Flemington the next day?? Surely the wouldn't front her for a media performance??? God save me, wouldn't you sell your soul to be there??
  12. Be good if you could tell us the breeding my love. Might make it easier to have an opinion regarding the name. Pleased to read you and the Mrs. had a happy date night.
  13. Neither did I Pete, but I cheered him to the post. Well deserved.
  14. WINX not bad for being ridden like a drunk on a pushbike eh, Gruff. If anyone had to beat her today I would have been pleased for Happy Clapper to do it. He is so honest Never mind. No one can take away from her what she has done. Absolutely awesome.
  15. Weasel, many years ago, some one (I don't recall who, but obviously wise) stated 'champions shouldn't be compared, merely admired'. Makes sense to me.
  16. Bloody good decision. Pleased they considered her and not a visit with the Queen. What a magic day Cox Plate 2018 will be.
  17. Awesome. I see they did some sort of survey in Oz as to what path she should take this campaign. Can't remember all %ages exactly but 56% said go for a 4th Cox Plate. 20-something% said UK for the Queen Anne. 9% said the Breeders and 4% suggested 'other races'. Would the Arc be an option for her? I wish they would retire her. Let her put her feet up and reminisce on an amazing career. My blood pressure would be a lot better.
  18. Really sorry to read of her demise. She was certainly a stunner. RIP
  19. I'm sorry JOT but I'm with Nice Option , I don't understand your comment 'restraints around punting online are not the fault et cetera but business rules and margins they dictate. I understand even less your comment re 'an hour out before the big race the TAB where (except I think you mean 'were') 100k ahead from last year so to lock et cetera, et etera, et cetera (as Yul Brynner said in the King and I many years ago.) Hopefully you can enlighten both JOT and myself.
  20. They have done exceptionally well in Aussie, as they did in NZ. All credit to them both and I would be delighted to see them have the winner.

    Go Winnie

Barry, he doesn't actually say he is unable to work. Read his post again - unless I've missed an earlier post of course. Apologies if I have.
  22. Littletramp I hate people who say 'none of my business but' and this isn't mine, but you have me curious - yes, yes, we all know curiosity killed the cat but mine is still alive. Thankfully. If a family benefit allowance is to support families why would Social Welfare pay it into a TAB account???? Withdrawals or not is not my reason for asking. As I said, merely curiosity.
  23. 'Cracking' isn't a good word Swoopa. I'd describe it as 'friggin' hot'; Absolutely amazing today. I've seen women in heels that would have to be 4/5 inches high tottering along. I've seen them carrying their 4/5" heels and wearing thongs. I am astounded they managed to walk the distance to the track. I have excelled with my ability to be lost at the Louvre and asked 8 people for directions by the time I found myself, hot and sweaty, at the pick up point. We ran into the all the traffic on the Champs Elysees after the disaster there and I have to say, late though it was, I was glad to get to St. Pancreas. So far, I've been to Warwick Castle which was awesome, where Shakespeare was born, the Cotswolds and Oxford University. I still have the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Tower, Harrods, Ely Cathedral and a few other sights to see before I head off to Newmarket. Not sure I'll be able to keep up the pace. .
  24. Insider, I have two nights in Newmarket . Also being taken on a tour of the Queen's Stud. I hope they mean horses and not Prince Philip. Ely Cathedral is in the mix as well. I hope God is happy about heathens storming his domain. I agree with your opinion re Frankel. Not sure if they will have me to visit but I will try.
