Hope you're right Lad , however I just don't see the same widespread societal, political and 'cultural' support and push back from the NZ public in support of Greyhound racing like the Aussies did.. Other interesting thing is the anti gambling angle that seems to be a target recently, not just wastage and injuries but "gambling is so bad for society let's ban it". Covid showed alot of otherwise ignorant people the extent to which gambling makes the world go around...and they didn't like it..

What are peoples thoughts on the NZ Cup this year? It struck me as a very ordinary field, all they can do is qualify and I'm sure connections will happily collect the 100k regardless, but just from a punter/racing fan point of view it just looks like another average Addington field, intermediate grade at that. Happy to see Ripslinger Roxy make it thru, she's been wonderful to follow on the punt...always capable of running a place, be it C1 , NZ Oaks or NZ Cup. (Racer not a chaser)

Those were the days! When people were racing for the sentimental value of certain trophies/ribbons and for the love of it as much as anything else. Reminds me of a Trophy everyone wanted to win back in the day at the Manawatu track.. the Applejack boy cup. C2 middle distance if I remember rightly and I think the trophy was huge hence the reason people targeted it on the racing calendar, I'm sure the Cobain kennel would've won a few Applejack Boy's.

I think you'll find Roso writes those comments these days (for CD) , he's been away on leave = no comments. Clearly not Roso's fault, he's entitled to leave, but you're right Everton, it's poor and just shows 1 man goes on leave and the punters miss out on comments which really should be a core task/resource for the TAB to complete. Also on similar subject.. no on course commentator, we knew we'd get to this point one day and it's a sad reminder of where we are in terms of our sport...well it's less a sport/hobbie these days and more of an industry , namely a gambling industry.

When I sat down yesterday to do the form I didn't know if we were going ahead or not and didn't want to waste time on an abandoned meeting. Very unfortunate for the Craik team and the handful of others north of the Bombays, almost say its unfair to go on without them...but I suppose 'fairness' goes out the window at a time like this. My thoughts and best wishes to everybody out there at this uncertain time.

They went with the angle of 'Taxpayers money was spent on this' which was clever on their part aswell, and got me thinking.. this makes the sport much more accountable in terms of this 'social licence' thing we hear about, it engages the public much more on the issue and means they are far more likely to form an opinion. I feel like we've gotten too big for our boots, stick your neck out it gets chopped off. What I mean by this is we've gone far too professional...all about pumping out gambling product...allowing certain greyhound trainers to become Millionaires!! We've strayed too far away from being the great amateur/hobby sport we once were ,which I feel would be much more palatable and sustainable in the eyes of 'society'. Lots of us have been saying it for ages, how did we allow people to bred hundreds of dogs..?? How did we allow people to rape the game of millions of dollars??Should've kept it hobby guys, you'll all wish you had, got too greedy, got too big for your boots.

Was anyone else unfortunate enough to see the Rosanowski-Cole interview on Trackside today around 1pm? It's like Rosanowski read this thread and thought 'let's take it up another notch'. It was truly vomit inducing. Rosanowski interviewing Cole pointing out how awesome he is, Cole agreeing that he's hotshit, saying he will win 1000 races next season "I promise you that". Rosanowski pointing out how awesome Craig Rendle is, Cole agreeing saying he was happy to go into business with "such a great guy". Then Rosanowski says (I'm paraphrasing) "are you concerned that you're dominating and pushing everyone else out or do you think they should just get better and reach the bar you've set" to which Cole suggests everyone needs to lift their game cos he started from the bottom , he then talks about "sacrifices" and being willing "to borrow money and borrow more money" , by this stage my eyes hurt from rolling them so much and my mouth is full of vomit. Rosanowski can redeem himself and this cock sucker interview if he follows up with...But Brendon you borrowed and borrowed and then went BANKRUPT and have been living a lie under Lisa Cole's name every since. But Brendon you are currently facing criminal charges for cheating/animal cruelty. I have it from a good source that this is still going ahead , yes it's been ages but you see on the news every day examples of how slow the justice system ticks, throw in Coles lawyer getting hit by a bus and Covid-19 and the wait goes on. My understanding is that it will be a Jury trial (last we heard, if/when we ever get there) and the SPCA have handed over to the 'Crown Prosecutor' who now has to do the rounds all over again with the witnesses etc. Dates for next appearance? Dont Know. Strength of case? Dont Know. 100% sure we'll ever get to this trial? No. I've been around long enough to know theres no certainties in racing or the justice system! However like I said, last I heard its still going ahead, despite Cole constantly stirring rumours to the contrary, just to upset people. Which brings me to my next point, why are we talking about this again now? Probably because we all saw Cole's ugly mug all over the TV the other day! Biggest question about sweeping under rugs is WHY GRNZ HAVE ALLOWED THIS MAN BACK ON COURSE??? Does anyone know? Were we all meant to forget after Covid....? I've been in holiday mode but try to stay in touch with results etc, while browsing thru results for Palmy dogs on Monday I see Cole DOMINATED, some quick stats from Monday... Cole 8/12 races won. 6 Cole trifectas! They claimed 25/36 available spots on the podium!! Wow..and I know, this is relatively normal it's just that I dont normally scan thru results page and to see it there in black and white was quite confronting and quite sad to be honest. I hear Hayley Mullane is going to be working for Cole, after appearing to be a promising, successful young trainer the struggle has become real, no more so than when she started training his and Rendle's cast-offs , so from promising young northern trainer to CD Cole minion...she's been enveloped into the Cole web and this is just another small example of the sickening dominance of this man.

Anyone else find that when you click on a bet and add it to betslip the price invariably goes down at that very moment, now I know what your thinking, you win some you lose some, but seriously i never seem to click on a price and then it magically goes up..if it changes its down! The other day I clicked on a price, $6 , then it changed to 5.50 in front of my eyes, now this was at 10am 4 hours before jump!! I decided, bugger this not taking it now, then check a little later back to $6..?? No sign of a fluctuation either.. Anyone else?

I was having trouble too, opening up the 'punters lounge' etc. I use it mostly from an S8 Samsumg smartphone. I phoned the help desk there's been a change my system was no longer supported or words to that effect anyway the cure is to open TAB app using 'Chrome'. And if you dont know what that means, maybe someone can explain? Cos I'm no expert myself..
