    Tips of the day

Good onya gerter, so far you are certainly tipping dogs that have firmed, the 3 dogs on day1 all firmed, halved in price even, so credit to you for that.

    Cole - Court case

So true what you say Everton. I've been in holiday mode but try to stay in touch with results etc, while browsing thru results for Palmy dogs on Monday I see Cole DOMINATED, some quick stats from Monday... Cole 8/12 races won. 6 Cole trifectas! They claimed 25/36 available spots on the podium!! Wow..and I know, this is relatively normal it's just that I dont normally scan thru results page and to see it there in black and white was quite confronting and quite sad to be honest. I hear Hayley Mullane is going to be working for Cole, after appearing to be a promising, successful young trainer the struggle has become real, no more so than when she started training his and Rendle's cast-offs , so from promising young northern trainer to CD Cole minion...she's been enveloped into the Cole web and this is just another small example of the sickening dominance of this man.

    Tote Place Divs.

Anyone else find that when you click on a bet and add it to betslip the price invariably goes down at that very moment, now I know what your thinking, you win some you lose some, but seriously i never seem to click on a price and then it magically goes up..if it changes its down! The other day I clicked on a price, $6 , then it changed to 5.50 in front of my eyes, now this was at 10am 4 hours before jump!! I decided, bugger this not taking it now, then check a little later back to $6..?? No sign of a fluctuation either.. Anyone else?

    Results page

I was having trouble too, opening up the 'punters lounge' etc. I use it mostly from an S8 Samsumg smartphone. I phoned the help desk there's been a change my system was no longer supported or words to that effect anyway the cure is to open TAB app using 'Chrome'. And if you dont know what that means, maybe someone can explain? Cos I'm no expert myself..

    Vale Tom McGillivray

Bet on Bessie is the dog that comes to mind from the McGillivray kennel. Won Silver Collar late 90's...2nd the next year if I remember rightly? And I'm sure the Mcgillivray's weren't one hit wonders but Bessie is the one I remember... Agree GOM...Mcgillivray = legend greyhound trainers of stayers. RIP Tom. Kia kaha to his family.

Couch TV Presenters, here’s your chance

Listing all those requirements is a tad strange alright! Is that a case of them already knowing exactly who is going to be taking the role? so they've just given any other possible candidate the big dont bother. Its akin to the NZ police saying they want new people, preferably with 3+ years law enforcement experience. ...um?

    New Season

Nah I dont think it'll go that far GOM, but perhaps a naming and shaming of a live baiter at some stage this season could be in order? Or are you against naming and shaming trainers full stop, regardless of the 'crime'? Just trying to understand the tone of your post..

    Glenda Hughes

Thanks poundforpound, There's not much of a 'lot' left to inform on this forum. Mainly just Cole supporters in here now hence why its tumbleweeds... As for Glenda Hughes, I've got no idea, but gee the turnover rate is shocking, if not surprising. Have to feel sorry for some of the office staff who dont know who their 'boss' is from one quarter to the next.

    Index of Starters at Wanganui

Yeh thanks for the news flash slam dunk. It's a Bigtime bore. Or is that Big time bore? What's with the gap between big and time now..? Is that so we can start recycling all the Bigtime names again...oh joy. I personally prefer the North/South variety for punting, with dozens of trainers able to share the honours on any given day. You could argue that it's not B Cole's fault that no one in the C.D can go with his standards...to a degree that's a fair enough point but you could also argue that B Cole is a horrible piece of work, a nasty, greedy man, a cheat, a bully, a criminal... the worst thing to ever happen to this industry.
  11. Agree as above. I enjoy the Jockey and Driver Challenge bet types as an entertainment bet type. Sometimes I win and sometimes I lose and sometimes it's a deatheat. But that's OK because I understand the deadheat rules, I am also struggling to see Sparrow's logic. Given the example above, I don't know the odds but I'm assuming someone like Sam Collett came up short of expectations so you get a tiny payout, someone like Hazel probably exceeded expectations so followers were grateful for their payout. In other words, just punting. Punting is punting is punting...

    Getting big air

I think you'll find on closer inspection those bandages are on both front feet Eyespy...you should have spotted that with your name. I wouldn't claim to be an expert but I would suspect they are there to provide 'support' for the metacarpal bones etc. Same bandaging that we see some trainers do almost religiously here in NZ, I think for some it's become habit or 'mind over matter' more than anything else.

    Getting big air

Double suspension gallop. When in full flight a greyhound spends more time off the ground than on it. So when people call them flying machines they are not far wrong. Definitely a gait for speed but not endurance.

    Brendan Cole

Just tuned in to hear Peter Earley's radio show, he went through his list of guests and interview subjects then said at the end rather sarcastically.."no one from Greyhound Racing NZ today".

    Black arm bands

Agree with these sentiments GOM. Very sad to hear about David's passing. I have such fond memories of the DD Schofield kennels around the turn of the Millennium/early 2000s, they really were a superstar kennel with all their shiny new Aus Imports, that was my 'good old days'. Some dogs that come to mind...Smokin' Prince, Overtime, Big Sam Junior, Big Sam Banner, the Charlstons, Te Amore Lee, Astro Teddy ( creator of the greatest dog race of all time)...Theres many more champions I've forgotten..?? Anyway that's what I'll remember David for, my condolences to Denis and Pam. I dont know the circumstances around Dave's death but those who knew him, know he had his struggles, this is a sad end..RIP now David, Champion Trainer, gone too soon.

Yes that's him Baz. Believe they were in Te Awamutu area training dogs before moving to C.D. Didn't see today's coverage but Phillipa must have improved out of sight if what you are saying is true, either that or we just have different tastes/ideas about what is a 'natural presenter' and a 'wealth of knowledge'..

    Dead dogs on interislander

Yeh, we learned that recently GOM when 'Team McInerney' managed to kill some dogs, (let's hope it's not them again!) that story escaped with less Media/Police/SPCA attention than this latest case...why? Ironically because the McInerney's where even more negligent and cruel, it wasn't dealt with straight after the ferry sailing, the poor dogs lay dead in the back of the van all the way back to Darfield! But at least that gave the Mcinerney's more time to get it away from the attention of the Media/Police/SPCA.

    Whanganui

Yep, and who does that play into the hands of? The 'Big Trainers' who have bullrings and straight tracks etc to train and educate on, it smacks of 'you lowly LP's wanna mess with us then we'll mess with you".

    Dress Code

Well spotted Not Tonight because I must say I noticed something on Friday night aswell, a lady coming back to the dais in a very ordinary looking 'white' blouse (faded, wrinkly etc)... she might've gotten away with it until someone wearing an actual white shirt walked beside her and drew attention to the fact bigtime!!

    New FOB and Shutdown

I've got a question for SneakyTrader, and a warning for all TAB acc holders. Last week a friends TAB account had a sum of money subtracted for a 'Fixed Odds Bet'...the thing is this bet was never placed!! It claimed to be on 'thoroughbreds' and it also claimed that the start time of the event was long gone when the bet was 'placed'. In account history under description: it says 'unsettled'. As of now it still says 'unsettled' 5 days later. This was the TAB just subtracting money when there was no bet placed!! Now I know what you're thinking, but I insisted my friend ring and demand an explanation and sure enough the lady at help desk said straight away "yep I can see this is an error, you didnt place this bet" she then said she would email someone and get it sorted. And we are still waiting for a reimbursle 5 days later!! So my question to SneakyTrader and infact all account holders is have you heard of, or had this happen to your own account?? Because if you look at the bigger picture here this is very concerning , how many times is this happening? Possibly without even being detected from account holders?

    New FOB and Shutdown

Has dramatically changed my punting experience, not for the better either. There is no such thing as 'option numbers' anymore, not on the online platform anyway. I don't have a TAB acc, it's because I'm an 'old school' retail customer that I've been shafted. No more sorting out my sports multi/bet slips at home, I can't even go in store and fill out my betslip using my device anymore, you've got to get your option numbers off the self service screen, far from ideal.. I've phoned the help desk and had all this confirmed, my particular M.O has been shafted. Oh well I'll just get with the times and get fully online but not with the NZ TAB. Pffft "upping their game" my arse, just trying to catch up only about 10 years behind.
