  1. I think they need to be creative. Step up a grade, drop some weight, and he will likely prevail.

    A & P Show

Yep, reality over subsidy. Ratepayers should be pleased--if only it translates into frugality rather than profligate Council spending .
  3. Don't agree Insider. They need to follow through with renaming Government and other agencies in the normal language for most New Zealanders, ditch thousands of public service bludgers who were cynically positioned in "work" by the Ardern/Hipkins cabal late last year and marginalise Swarbrick and her coterie of queers. I'm picking most thinking NZers are delighted that the evil bitch Adern is gone and are even applauding the wonderfully lucid Shane Jones as he lines up the parasitic Waitangi Tribunal. It's tough to produce financial largesse for everybody when the incompetent previous lot have emptied the pot with their Marxist behaviour.
  4. It's a sorry day when we have to invoke spiritual gestures to save racing.
  5. Something seriously wrong with you!! Everything is Sad,sad, sad. What would be sad would be the horse breaking down or dying prematurely. Time to look past your own self-interest (financial or otherwise), Bosson's statistics ( she owes him nothing) and your belief that Imperatriz "couldn't race again". From the equine "pulpit of truth" Ellis says she is "happy and sound"--what's the reality? Regardless, she has nothing to prove, so cash her up because there is NOTHING SAD about the story.
  6. Who would that be and why the moniker?
  7. 100% Gruff! No respect for Johnson after that "dive" and all the writhing around on the ground to milk the penalty.
  8. Quite the valedictory from Ellis and Te Akau---interestingly not a mention of the trainer who looked after her so well and produced terrific winning results in the mare's formative racing years. That would be Jamie Richards if anybody else has the same TA amnesia.
  9. Really? Didn't try hard enough. Apparently advised he would go to $9mil. Created the bullshit theatre but in the end was "full of it". Who would know if he even had a bid. The old 'phantom phone bidding" trick. Besides the filly seemed to have a slightly offset near fore to my eye!
  10. JMO. I've always called out the horse auction process and all the shonky practice that pervades them. Understand the "buyer beware" premise but vendor bids need to be disclosed as they are in Real Estate ? ( maybe?)
  11. A bit of an understatement Memphis--she is Bob Ingham's daughter !
  12. Very polite way to describe the BS auction Pogo! Imagine the deals that went on pre-auction with dummy bids, discounted commissions,---------- A major PR exercise for Inglis, Oz racing,--that clown Albanese will even be spruicking his input. Comical the whole affair.
  13. Thought the same myself O'man, especially after that germ Guerin wrote that Imperatriz had performed very well "in a bog"! (yeah, 1.10.4). She did perform well, had her chance, but no need for the Te Akau suck-up. I didn't even see much evidence of kick back or flying clods--amazing.
  14. As the TAB used to exclaim I think he is still "In the Game"--Land Shark that is, not buying horses!
  15. Very strange post Crusty--the Arab world never has, nor ever will accept Israel's right to exist so forgiveness not an issue with the religion of "tunnel vision". And what the hell has an ice-cream promoter of limited intellect got to do with it? Did you spot her at a protest somewhere? Don't you ever question why the rest of the Arab world doesn't want a bar of the Palestinians?
  16. Sat in that stand many a time in the 60's, 70's and 80's--even when it provided seating for the Jimmy Thunder fight in 1987. Great vibe as was always the case at most race meetings "back in the day".
  17. Unless of course it was the Avondale committee, in which case your head would be spinning!
  18. Harvard, Yale, Stanford and most US Universities and medical institutions infested with Fauci acolytes and Trump Derangement Syndrome sufferers. THEY ARE NOT VACCINES!
  19. Dear TA, I have followed your posts for a few years and have generally believed you may have a cerebral component in your cranium. Over the Covid issue I believe you have been seriously misled and been seduced by Ardern group think. JMO of course. The shit being peddled by so-called health authorities (Wiles, Hendy, Baker et al) is NOT a vaccine. If you want to "roll up the sleeve" and cop some more, that is your choice. History is already proving that jabbing indiscriminately and locking people up was the absolutely wrong thing to do. And now your mate Ardern (the evil bitch who denied contact between dying citizens while she allowed the Wiggles into the country to entertain her snotty-nosed bastard child) is accusing this government of fear-mongering! The unexplained excess deaths in this country are the ultimate cover-up.
  20. So "stand down" bleeding attacks have a nasal origin only -- not in any way pulmonary? And the stipes found this haemorrhage after scoping her after running a very fine second, not tailed off?
  21. I'm picking the weird house plus the "impediment" rather than "asset" of harness facilities in a twilight industry, ruled by a few, will deflate the sale price. Time will tell but JMO.
  22. 2 year old 1200 run in 1-09 and second race 1400 1-23 -----track rating a SOFT 7 ?????
  23. Alf, for what it's worth I'll give you my appraisal of the day Saturday, the 9th, which also mirrors Derby Day. For many years I have been a strident critic of the previous ARC for its "lazy" efforts in maximising a fantastic facility right in the middle of Auckland. Been an attendee for over 50 years (misspent youth!) and as a member I sought an audience with Weaver/Castles some years ago to offer voluntary services to clean up bird shit and other rubbish in the Members Stand which had become the alternate "Spookers". My offer was declined due to the usual Health and Safety BS. Things are gradually improving in that Stand but there is a long way to go for regular Members. As for Cup day. I found the overall experience greatly improved and don't share your opinion on the crowd size. It took a little while to build up but by race 5 I meandered around where I had ready access , including the Public Stand where I beheld a large congregation of young people ( no obvious drunkedness, beautifully presented young ladies who were also at the tote betting, and minimal confronting security presence). Don't know official numbers but seemed more than adequate. Music on the day was more mellow than the usual "rap" beats which was appreciated and access to our horses in the new stabling area is perfect, without compromising safety. As for the racing--like many I'm disappointed with some of the field sizes which often translates to uncompetitive racing patterns and particularly leader bias, but that's up to the jockeys. I'm looking forward to more regular attendance which has waned over recent years. Might have to breed a few more.
  24. IN THE BEST JOOLY TRADITION THIS POST NEEDS THE HIGHEST COMMENDATION .
