Thejanitor 1,240 Report post Posted May 6, 2023 How good was Don't Stop Dreaming last night. Talk about go to another level. Geez the horse looked big and strong and Natalie drove him like that too. Not often she pushes them out that quick from out there but she was going to the front no matter what. The horse cruised it and jogging and stilled pulled away from them inn the straight. He looks like the 2023 NZ Cup winner to me.Stablemate Sinbad was also a tough run. Merlin huge too but he will need to find more to beat Don't Stop Dreaming. The final will be a cracker!! It was a good night's racing and there were some tough efforts. Sweet Belle how tough is she. She was parked three/four wide for the first 600m and still held them all off. Great training feat by the master Paul Nairn to have Matua Tane cherry-ripe fresh up. It was a cool drive from Gerard O'Reilly, one of three winning drives on the night for New Zealand's most underrated driver. I would have thought Gerard's three wins would have featured on the HRNZ website news but no nothing. Joke. Really disrespectful to a great servant of the game and straight up and down. It was good to see a lot of quality horses on display last night instead of the same old fields we get.
