Kiah 13 Report post Posted February 5, 2011 The Mighty Quinns run was just terrific given how the race panned out. I used to follow him over here and he was often unlucky. But I didnt get how come he was such a hot favourite over there off a handicap???????? Spose now I know why. If that had been Addington he would have won
Midget 4,489 Report post Posted February 5, 2011 Well done TEAM Butt, but also to Terry McDonad and Eddie Griffen, these Guys would have spent millions over the years. Just a pity that Terry has a fear of flying and rarely gets to see his horses race.

Thought Melton was a new track, how big is it?, for some reason thought it was Victorias answer to Menangle.
4bettor-orworse 21 Report post Posted February 6, 2011 Pre reace I thought the Mighty Quinn represented very poor value. By the way it finished off I can see what the hype was about. It suffered from a lack of mid race moves. Yes, amazing odds for Stunning Cullen the last two weeks. Well, he's clearly back - if it wasn't already obvious last week. Stunnin Cullen fans owe a % of gratitude to Smiling Shard who initiated the three wide cart up. What a gutsy horse he is and fast becoming my favourite. He's only four and not a big fella either. Was up and running as an early 2yo and has been the best of his year group since then. Quite often the 2yos who have the early ability and speed to dominate over 1700m /2200m early in their careers don't go on to be the types that have the strength to sit three wide in top open class company later on. He's almost always put into the race and has had a quite a few tough runs over his career. He's already had one layoff. These horses aren't machines. I hope he is managed well and not ginga-ised. I doubt that would happen though. Delovely vs Smiling Shard would be a great headline for the 4yo races in may, I think. Along with a very strong supporting cast, it could make for one of the best messengers ever.

4bettor-orworse 21 Report post Posted February 6, 2011 Going by those figures its a similar sized track to Alex Park. Too big to be called a saucer track. Too small to be considered a large track.
