This is 2024..... the coverage is 1994...... we have reduced media outlets and this display which excludes Fox and adds Pavon who has absolutely no form at Le golf Nationale is very questionable.

Favouring the local guy in the coverage is, dare I say it Gruff, par for the course. As it is with American coverage of the LPGA or PGA, choosing to cover a struggling Tiger or Lexi, ahead of someone shooting the lights out.

I am surprised at the lack of camera stations for the Olympic coverage though.

And as for the commentary, they are running at about 5 cliches per minute so that's a bit hard to take.

Often with the LPGA, I wish they would sack the commentators and allow for just the natural sounds on the course, and the players voices to be heard.

Just typical of sport today they, over commentated and grossly over 'panelled' with so many 'experts' rolling out the same old rhetoric week in week out.

Any league pre. mid or post game panel discussions, I can't get to the mute button fast enough 😁

And don't get me started on the gender mix formula that they all seem to 'adhere to'.

That feels better now, getting that off my chest 😁

Spot on Alf--get those yabbering females, and bloody Colt Knost, out of men's golf! (and ALL men's sport).  Miss the unobtrusive, pithy delivery of Peter Alliss and Henry Longhurst . TV is a visual medium, we can see what's happening, post a few graphics  and shut the F--- up.

I note the women's sevens team are home already, job done I guess, seems they don't take in the rest of the games, that girl who whined and snivelled  about not originally  being picked  for mountain biking was a joke, seemed so happy after the event, you would think she would be gutted after not winning anything, some of the sports there shouldn't be there anyway.

As for coverage being biased, think we are always going to get that.

I understand you would be in France  hot favourite to win a gold in the dumb comments.

A number of the 7s players are in the Australian womans league but you are 10years behind the times.

Gee the retard has returned, has the medication worked, seemingly not,

Never doubted your Golf knowledge whatsoever Gruff - you are a man that seems to find a dollar on the fairways so well done you. Interested to know what got you 1000 up this far in?

Never expected Pavon to do well, but did expect him to get more coverage than his due .......

As for Tiger and Lexi, legends true, but well past their prime so not great viewing, in my opinion .....just like the Senior Tour 😉

I'll get back to you on that Gruff, although I don't claim to be in your league, so I'm not sure if you'll part with any of your hard earned on what I think 😁

TIGER AND LEXI ARE LEGENDS ALF,

Tiger only 16 months away from Seniors eligibility Gruff. I'm picking his rarefied, albeit justified, ego will never allow him to play that Tour. Doubt Lexi in the "legend" category ability wise--on a character basis certainly.

Agree on both of those Chevy - legend get's over used in golf, as it does with horses being called champions.

Don't they call a bunch of old farts playing (average) Golf on TV for money (they don't need), The Legends Tour?

They should call it The Boring Not Necessary Tour 😁

Well Gruff - painful commentators aside, it ended up being great coverage on the final round with much wider exposure of the course and how things were unfolding.

Lots of twists and turns making for great viewing and a very late night.

I hope the punting went well.

I'm just watching the shooting, and a guy from Ukraine was competing, wonder if he would shoot better if a picture of Putin was the target😃

Nearly always cheer for Aus , but was actually cheering for Ukraine last night in the Ladies High Jump Final. against the 2 Aussies.

after all the wars trouble they've had in Ukraine with the Russian invasion, they deserve something nice for a change for the general population.

In the end they gave out 4 medals anyway . And they All got one !! excellent stuff.

Ok Gruff, for what it's worth, here's how I see it in 3, with a little bit of value attached.

Hannah Green at 23's

Minjee Lee at 21's

Atthaya Thitikul at 10's

Plus, Lydia Ko / Amy Yang at 19's in the Duo market probably worth a lazy tenner as well.

Would love to see Lydia get the Gold she's missing from the collection, but she might need to play more freely and not get too involved in process, IMO

Not bad Alf, from what we have seen from the 17s i recieved from Scheffler this course throws up a nice number to the better player without an earlier low....The wise money was on Zhang at 19s and then 17s after round 1 but anyone within 5 or 6 are still live....i like the thai at 7s but lydia seems quite composed with a big issue being 18....whats the winning number....if its 11 under we can see an upset

Hi Gruff,

Very nice work on Scheffler at 19's - that was an awesome watch and even more fun when the money gets up for you too.

Last night was brilliant too, with multiple players in the hunt, especially after Lydia's inexplicable swim. I was watching it thinking no way she is going at that flag - haven't heard any comments since but maybe she just blocked it right, rather than taking it on as it looked.

My bets with the exception of Minjee all gave me something to follow at least, and the 19's on Ko / Yang has topped the account up nicely 🙂 It was nice having both in the bracket as winning chances.

I don't normally bet on Lydia as there is enough satisfaction in the win alone, but being an Amy fan and her form and type of game suited to the course was enough to have a nibble at.

Incredibly happy for Lydia, a special way to get the Hall of Fame point she needed as well as now having the full set of medals.

Perhaps the crowning glory for the year and her career will be victory at the Old Course this year - how amazing that would be 👍

Compared to PAVON  they are, slightly exaggerated to make a point but  that was my only intention.....if pavon  gets the results Lexi has my point will be moot... although .Horses i for courses in golf not a novel concept

You never expected a Frenchman to do well at a home olympics after beating a hot field on the Pga in the same season? are you holding out on me Alf?
