  1. I here what you are saying Fartoomuch but over the last few years he has been in the top 7 in the drivers premiership and 3rd on two occasions, so he can't be doing too much wrong I would think. Admittedly Dexter put his horses near the front with great results but quite often had better horses to drive. My liking of Ricky May's driving is however only my opinion.
  2. Or perhaps he has horses today that he can drive that way.
  3. I like Mick's enthusiasm, and he is not afraid to state what he really thinks, but he does annoy me when as soon as Greg starts a statement about something he takes over the conversation. To me being old fashioned interrupting someone is being rude.
  4. Well named Iraklis as it went a really good time according to Dave McDonald. Some of the huge margin may be because the opposition was not strong, but a great effort just the same. A win like that really ups the excitement that harness racing can give.
  5. Is that just verbally or does it include sign language? This is ridiculous, as if they are going to rig a race then they will do it before going on to the track. I am sure even new race goers wont be concerned about seeing drivers chatting as it is a natural thing to do before a race.
  6. May be waiting until after the Cup Trial later today.
  7. I would probably sell because I am not rich and with the money I could help my family. However if you are rich with a dream of winning the Cup and you think your horse could perhaps do that, then you would probably keep it. Pretty hard to turn down that sort of money though.
  8. A small interest in Captain Dolmio for a place at $5.50, although he might pay more on the tote if nowhere on Monday.
  9. That is sad 50 win no.1, as having bet on harness for 40 years you and your mates must have got some enjoyment from that. So far it appears there is only a very small number involved and they are yet to be found guilty of anything. In other sports there appears to be a lot of very questionable decisions made by referees and also team favouritism but that does not put me off having a bet because I get a kick if I win. After all it is called gambling. I hope you reconsider after we know all the facts. Best wishes.
  10. Sam Ottley has had one or two drives for him recently.
  11. It was stated at the time it was 2500 pounds but was in fact quite a bit more. The Todds new just how good he was but didn't want to travel all the time from the deep south.
  12. Driver is P.T. Wolfenden who trained him after the Todd Brothers of Mataura sold him to a Mrs Dean. Too many great wins to name only one.
  13. Thanks Fartoomuch, unfortunately I took the fixed odds early as I thought it would pay less on the tote. However I am not complaining.
  14. I think Possente Cavello could win again in race 8. Nice odds at 8 and 2.10.
  15. Some time early last year the TAB said that we were going to be able to bet during a race the same as some live betting on sports. This was to start late in 2018 and I am wondering if anyone has heard anything further as to whether it is going ahead or not.
  16. It depends of course on the calibre of horse they draw, but my pick would be Matt Anderson. There is a lot of talent there though, and the competition should be interesting.
  17. Then if that is the case there is no such thing as a hooker in the historical position, which now should be renamed I would have thought. The centre position of the front row doesn't do any hooking anymore.
  18. Why is the term hooker still used in rugby when the ball is invariably hooked by the prop?
  19. The problem lies at the top with the coach selection and even more so with the coach who didn't give her best seven enough game time to work up their knowledge of each others play, and were played out of position far too many times. That mentally must have wrecked havoc on the players confidence which is something the coach obviously doesn't understand. The girls gave it everything in very trying circumstances and I for one are very proud of their efforts.
  20. Comes from "in the vanguard" meaning a group of people leading from the front, eg attacking the enemy in war, or putting forward a new idea etc.
  21. Really?? Matthew Cross has never come across as a know it all, and certainly has less to learn than A. White.
  22. He might just do it this year as the All Stars don't appear to have many runners at the moment while they concentrate on Australia, and they don't normally get many winners during the winter months.

    Bugga!

Thanks for that harewood. I am not disappointed at all, in fact glad that is the system used as it is fair to all.

I don't know if the barrier draws are done by computer or not, but if they are then the computer can be set to give them the result they want. eg a horse beginning with an L to draw between 7 & 9. I have been told this can be done.
