  1. Yes, its unfortunate that as well as being one of the most commonly used words by Brendan Propperwell, he pronounces it incorrectly each time. Cringeworthy. I heard that Waikato Times guys have a few goes, Dato nam chin tan, Dato cham tin nan, Dato tam nin chin, embarrasing.
  2. I'm not a huge fan of these topblueblood posts, but in saying that is pretty easy to simply not click on it, so no harm done. Congrats though to the poster, it looks like a lot of hard work.

    Guptill not out

He would have been part of the decision to drop Martin for Southee. Time wil tell whether it was fluke or masterstroke. Good luck to the Black Caps. Big advantage to India at the moment.
  4. . Does exist. I was a student not that long ago, and I was sometimes this type of 'knowitall', i hung around with similar 'knowitalls' and saw these 'knowitalls' around town at times. Pubs, rugby clubs, our flat, mates flats etc. But we weren't quite restricted to the first try scorer. We sometimes branched out as far to the winning team and margin. Maybe they are native to Dunedin and not to where you live.
  5. Knowitall - Comes into his own on Friday and Saturday nights, beer in hand, voice gets louder and doesn't mind letting other people know his opinion. Trys to put his money where his mouth is and fails continually. Is this who you are referring too barryb?
  6. Just reading on Stuff about the Warriors end of season review being brought forward, Blueys job not safe. Hmmm.
  7. I wouldn't have minded being the guy who had his ticket turned around, what was a loser is now a $25,000 return with Valerie now being a winner. Well done to both parties.
  8. I've just had a guy who I know who is close to the Warriors (not trying to spruik myself here) text me, saying the Warriors are making moves to get Andrew Johns involved with them. And by 'involved', he doesn't mean those fitness sessions, or one-on-one coaching with Shaun Johnson that he has done in the past. Strange, but true? Bye-bye Blue?
  9. Good luck to Paul on whatever may follow. I will be cheering him on.
  10. No you can't. I've tried to stop a race when my horse hits the front but it doesn't work. My horse stops, and all the others run past it.
  11. Well done 'abide' for providing a source. Although to be fair to Fordman I should have guessed that he wasn't trying to lead people astray even though he copied the quote without giving a source, because there were no spelling mistakes in it.
  12. Losing two games in a row when they were up 18 points each time, followed by two games where they have been whacked by 40 & 50 points is pretty painful though, and reason to declare disappointment.
  13. Yes it does. I thought it was our TAB being rip-offs, but have since found out that its normal practice in Australia too. Going by the horse racing rules, of if it wins the first leg its more likely to win the next, I guess that holds true for the 100m-200m. Bolt won this morning in style, so hes more likely now to win the 200m. I can't say that I like the rules though!
  14. My advice would be to do a dry run for at least 6 months to see how he would go. I.e. keep a log of the bets and amounts he would have placed and see whether he would have made a worthy profit or not. If he has a successful system or rules in place then he his a part of the way to realising his goal. Good luck to him.
