I remember Jeff in the Miracle Mile, trying to get to the led from out wide and just about jumping out of his gear he was going that fast. Game over.

Hart makes a big difference. He is such a balanced driver, motionless in the cart, Sarah O'Reilly the same, and the horses seem to keep on running for him. I don't think there is a better front-running driver around than Hart. Saturday night he drove ex-Kiwi trotter Hanover Da Moon a treat, cruising along in front he had the field beaten 800m from home. Genius driver, you have to respect any horse he drives.
I will stick with We Walk By Faith, I thought the horse looked fit and well, he just needs. good draw.

Dead set correct. We Walk By Faith for NZ (after being unplaced in the Hondo ) , and The Janitor for QLD , both have to go round this Saturday to try and force into the Chariots the following week by Winning the Paleface Adios Group 3 this Sat.
They normally would go close,  but darn Emma Stewart has thrown SOME AMERICAN into the Paleface this week as well,  (this horse won the 3 year olds Breeders Crown Final in November) , and Cam Hart is driving it.  the genius of Cam just might be too hard to beat and he wins again?

Think he is back with his Queensland owner now . Had a start the other day at Albion but stopped to a walk. a shadow of former self.
Grimson did a BIG job winning the Chariots Of Fire last year with Frankie though , can't do it again though as the race is for 4 year olds only.
Here's last years result from last March.. The Queenslander landing the prize with yet another great Cam Hart drive. 🏆
Against the best kiwi's going too, in Sooner The Bettor, Merlin and Don't Stop Dreaming.  time was 1.49.4.
What insulting prizemoney for the best horses around. Should be a $1/2mill race at least instead of 1/4 mill. 💰

Big improvement, from lots 26 to 70 only 11 passed, Stonewall Stud has purchased 2 Captaintreacherous colts at $360k each, out of AdoreMe and Better Twist

Pure Steel reacted to CeeMeNow in Auckland Yearling Sale
The sale is now over, there were 125 yearlings offered with 36 being passed, you can see their reserve prices on the NZB Standardbred web site.
In the last lots, after 107, there were another 5 six figure yearlings including, a CaptainT filly at $175k, Sweet Lou colt at $150k, and two $130k horses, a Tall Dark Stranger filly, and a CaptainT filly.
  7. Thanks

The Unhinged One was part owner of lot 62 , unfortunately someone tried to discredit the sale but despite that  sold for 120.000 we will never know if some purchasers were put off . Karma will hopefully deal to the culprit who feeds Peter Profit absoulte garbage.

I saw that race. Assuming Frankie has only had the one start back. The commentator was calling the race as if it was only a matter of time before Frankie unleashed, but as you say, he stopped to a walk. What's happened to Himanameisjeff?

Thanks Pure. The Chariots should be a strong field. The Janitor deserves a start. His form is first class, except for his Melton form and that's a track that doesn't suit all horses. Grimson has Frankie Ferocious aimed at that race. We Walk By Faith, even though he went ok in Hondo after slow start, and a check, could struggle to get a start. Some of the horses may have to race again this Saturday night?

The BIG race for 4 year olds is in 2 weeks time The 2025 Chariots Of Fire.
'The Janitor' ran the same time as Bay of Biscay last night so surely he gets into the Chariots? . 1.49 .6 is pretty worthy of a start. would near Win it lol.
Probably won't give him a start again like what happened last night in the Hondo, but just had a few bucks on him at 100-1 Sportsbet ,( just in case 😆 )
Cam Hart is likely to drive 'Bay of Biscay' for Emma Stewart as he has done a few times in Group 1's like the Vic Derby, Eureka , etc.
Looked a Quinella chance those 2 . The kiwi's will be in for the First 4 though. with 'Better Knuckle Up' and 'Major Hot' going well last night, sure to give a great sight.

Although I am not a fan of his driving I am not sure that he is to blame primarily - the Telfer horses are just going terrible - the South Island branch going a little better but they are often badly gaited horses and break often.
How Steve Stockman can keep spending huge amounts at the sales and in setting up the 2 stables for almost no return is mind boggling.
Yes Montana spends heaps too but they are winning a lot of group 1s and yet they would still be showing a big loss at the end of each season.

Since WagStar was only 4th, I guess that means you will be sober this week and keeping off the keyboard.
Addington actually had 2, eight horse races, field size is determined by who wants to race, not Addington policy.

You're missing the point Andrew. although thank you for pointing out how the young ones get a drive in the Bush in NZ.
There's no problem with anyone else driving the Diamonds team. I'm a fan of young drivers getting a go . Is SUPER Important for the GoOd and future of the Sport..
Blair Orange steered FOLLOW YOUR DREAM well to 2 wins at Nelson ( helped brilliantly by John's parked drive on RADHA the first day, John winning with it 2nd day)  The Gordon's (owners)  didn't want the young stable workers driving that 'star' horse ? . the horse isn't that great lol 😉 should give Harrison and Newman more goes with ones like that. they do a heap of stable work early mornings , late nights  and then have to sit there and watch Orange go round . in these tiny little races. It's not a Group race or anything. 😂
At least Olivia gets more goes on Cullens now and is learning her craft well and improving. After Orange was used a lot at first. Group races too. Good on em'.
The POINT is . John being the MAIN Stable 'hands on' worker is Driving to Beat them , on horses trained by other people ?? stretches credibility a Lot .
Is he trying or not ?? how could he come along with a rival to try and beat Judine, Baffled and  Cop-Girl when they're Diamonds runners on Friday ?  In a photo finish or something. ? He should give those drives to Harrison and Newman . How much do you get paid for a drive in NZ at Blenhiem these days?

Cam has Been driving this horse for a while. It has a huge reputation.
Bay of Biscay picked up $400,000 in October for Cam,  running 2nd in the Eureka Slot here at Menangle. the biggest prize race in Australia at 2mill.
Jason's horse driven by good young driver Jack Callaghan , who actually works for Grimson and drives just as many for him as Cam does these days. Grimson's horse finished at the tail well beaten in the Hondo tonight.

Yes, and another patient drive by Kate Gath. The horse is thriving and best if driven patiently as he needs time to get warmed up, balanced and work his way into the race. He can outstay most horses if driven this way. He's also getting better with age. Some horses also seem to race better with a female driver.
Don't Stop Dreaming is a top liner and he will win a top race soon.

Yes a good cart  out off the pole running line 2 laps out , when well on the bit . About half a cart out with one lap to go when not pulling as hard. And straight as a die up the home straight in the run to the finish when completely off the bit.
Some horses can 'Run up the track' a little when on the steel. Captain Hammerhead is a big strong animal , and been a little tricky to drive at times in the past.
David Moran doing a great job , and getting his redemption last night for the horse getting a DQ from the Shepparton Cup with the 'dropped' foot.
that Cost Swayzee 1/2 Million . But he's still in line for 1/2 Million if he wins at Tamworth ( and still  gets 4 wins in the 5 carnival of Cups Bonus series. )

Let's try for some Pure Steel wins in the meanwhile to try and get up the ladder a bit . 😎🍰🏄‍♂️

Tony H has cut back , but wouldn't think he would be short of a dollar with all of the success he has had  . Maurice must be close to 70 I think , but you would never know he still so talented .
David B just wondering how long he will keep going , I assume he must be mid 60's by now but still one of the best . Zac maybe when Barry retires will go into partnership with Scotty ? that would be a good move I reckon . Ben poor guy I really rate him as a driver and tragic that last fall he had . I hope things go better for him when he is back on the track .
The Telfer horses don't seem to be firing much these days in the North not sure what's happened there . Matty W I like him as a driver too such a cool head and his horses have performed well over the years and as you say hope he gets a few nice horses coming his way
