  11. Turn the Ace from TML's first crop has won twice. Including the black type Waikato Equine Vet Centre 1150m at Te Rapa. Today his son Verbek "won" a two year race over 1400m at Hawkesbury, NSW. ( he was relegated to 2nd after judicial review.) Brings to mind other NZ first season Sires ( from yester year ) who had success in Aussie with their first crop. Shifnal,Golden Eagle.Maybe, Zephyr Bay..... Will be very Interesting to have Race Cafe contributors mention some more NZ Sires who had a first crop two year old "winner" in Australia.

Today a marvellous Vet with an Irish ancestry who did one more year on the CJC than me,(9) did a few calculations at the Cambridge Trials. 25 Trials X 7 horses per heat = 175 horses. 175 equines at 35k per year = $6.1 million. Six Million for our rural local region. We are racing for $10K and paying 15K service fees. And mugs like us are sill in the game. I did not see all the trials.
